Hi Tenchu Doug here. I'm a movie prop junkie and have been on a recent binge to create and share prop making with others. I consider myself a newb but look forward to making as many cool props as possible. Currently working on a ghostbusters proton pack and predator costume.

Hello... I'm a Yorkshire lad, living in Devon in the UK. And I completed building a Special Weapons Dalek back in January 2009. Since then, I've been taking it to where ever I can transport it to raise money for various charities. I joined to charity groups. charitydaleks and Charity Dalek Squad and have great fun dressing up doing charity work. I Finish building a Ghostbusters uniform using plans on gbfans.com to build my proton pack and ghost trap, still working on my PKE and Ecto goggles to complete the look.
I'm also around 88% complete on trimming and putting together some Stormtrooper armour from Star Wars...As well as begining building an Astromech Droid, which I plan to have interchangable heads between the R2, R3, R4 and R5 heads.....
...Oh, and I nearly forgot. After my Missus Trundled within my dalek earlier this year, she announced that she'd like me to build her a dalek of her own.... in PINK This, once completed, will be used for raising money for Breast cancer awareness.

My 3 year old son loves it when we go do charity events dressed up, and would really like costumes of his own. I'm here in the hope of finding a resource, and advice along the way, to creating some costumes/props that he can wear/use at events. I'm thinking he'll be good as a jawa, LOL!!!!!

hello Im Aaron im from W.V. in a rather small town now but lived out in seattle for a few years. I have always loved building things from a young age i have had a star wars obsession so needless to say my first few builds have been star wars related.

Glad to be here finally, since i kept missing the entry window for a few years now. Big Sci-Fi / Fantasy fan, and have made various props over the years (Light Sabers, blasters, costumes, etc.) Going to be getting into clay soon and hope to start a thread soon. See you all soon!

Greetings!! I'm a huge Conan movie prop fan...ever since I drooled over the Conan Movie Fan Club page in my Savage Sword of Conan comics. I remember when they offered actual movie sword replicas for members! I was too young to join, buy I'll never forget thinking of having my own Conan movie sword. Fast forward 20 years later, and I started learning to build my own.

Here are a few a pics of my swords I've built...

All of these swords are built from 5160 spring steel and custom bronze investment castings.

Yet another newby creeping in.
I'm mainly a larper and look at forums like this for new ideas on how to make better looking LARP props, but I also and (slowly) getting a costume sorted for trooping with (having abandoned previous attempts)

I was led here by my lovely other half (Nitebytes) and am a keen propmaker. I am currently refurbishing and building new props for the Stargate LRP society and would be keen to have any of your ideas.

I love to find simple things that have been used in film and show props and making my own replicas (the stargate blood analyser crafted from a fishing game springs to mind here).

I finally joined after watching this site for such a long time. My name is Jason and I have been collecting and building for a while now. Everyone's prop making skills here always amazes me. I have a few notable things under my belt like Stormtrooper, and Fett armor, flux capacitor and most recently a proton pack. I think magicmot said it best in that i will hopefully be an asset to the community.

Just a geezer that sometimes likes to try best at replicating stuff.
My latest efforts involve Abe sapiens water suit mask / Kiwi skeleton, aayla serura bust, detached OMG Einstein was borg! head.

My absolute crafting uber dreams:
General grievous model scale 1:1
"working" Wall-E cleaner BOT
"talking" Teddy bear from AI.
The gardener from AI

So still working on the Kiwi skeleton, prepare to receive some newby questions about that and more of my Enthausiasticly started, Proudly in progress, Forgotten about...OMG OMG i want to make that other thing!

so happy to be part of this forum...my name is Johnny andI came across this site while searching the web for photos of the classic Universal Monsters...I have always loved to sculpt and build life size replicas of my favorite screen monsters since childhood and all these years later the love is still going strong...I am just so happy to see that there is an entire community of these enthusiasts...its like coming home!

Hi all,

Yet another newbie arrives . Been looking at Wasili's 1/12 APC and salivating badly. Just had to join after seeing that and other stuff!

I came across this site lots early last year when I found myself stuck at home due to serious illness (still am as well :unsure) and spending time twiddling thumbs, being bored and taking it out on the PC and the good old www. Since then I've got back into model making proper after a break of nearly 20 years - bit like starting all over again so I'm still finding my feet.

I'm really hoping to be able to eventually get into making masters/mold making and casting for mostly vehicles and figures but that's a way down the line yet! In the meantime I'm playing around, getting back into a great, old and bad habit which I hope I can become good at - good enough to produce stuff worth kitting even.

New to this world

Hello -

New member here...someone informed me about your site after seeing these "Inception" tops I made... I am also new to the world of movie prop replication...I fell into it after seeing the latest Christopher Nolan movie...I liked it (not as much as 'Memento' or 'The Prestige') but I really liked the Top totem...and I wanted one.

I am currently learning to be a machinist...I did the CAD design for my top from memory and a couple of googled images so it is definitely not a precise replica but its close and it does spin like a dream.

Hello all.. I am a member of Aliens Legacy and Sci Fi Hero. I'm big into costumes and props. My daughter and I have SG12 green off world costumes. I have a Colonial Marines costume from Aliens. Working on Seaquest and then ST II-VI costume. Made it to D-Con last year for the first time.. Been told this is the place for props...

My main prop interest is Sonic Screwdrivers from Doctor Who but I'm looking forwards to starting a proper collection with more than just screwdrivers!

Hiya all, I'm an utter newbie who heard about this forum through a video online of Adam Savage giving a presentation and mentioning this site. I've lurked about and scanned through some threads, salivating over some wicked awesome props and costumes.

I don't think I'll be able to do anything substantial in the prop direction any time soon, but my dad is teaching me a bit of tailoring. Figure I'll at least be able to make some partials and passable costumes.
