Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Well, I just found this particular thread. So I may as well get my post count up a few points.
I'm a college student from Illinois. I found this board when I discovered BFX's video on Fallout props, and was lead to this place. I bought my Pipboy 3000 resin cast from Skruffy (Which, by the way, is outstanding) and have been working on making it practical. So far, my prop interest focuses mostly on Fallout props.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, no one will ever read this!

I like heavy, real feeling and looking props.

I have access to a laser cutter and 3d printer

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I love BTTF! Is there any working skateboard versions of the BTTF Hoverboard designs?

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey, I found this site looking for details about Alex's costume from A Clockwork Orange. I haven't ever seen such wonderful details and designs before and thanks to your help, I'm going to have one of the best Halloween costumes this fall. :lol

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there,

I was steered to this site by a co worker who is also a movie buff and I am glad he did. Great site.

I started collecting movie memorabilia with one sheet movie posters, and its spiraled to now include 1 DP lifesize stormtrooper, a Pepsi lifesize Yoda and a recently bought Rubies 1997 lifesize Vader statue.

I have some questions about the vader statue, and I was hoping I was in the right place to talk about it.

thank you

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I'm not sure if I have ever introduced myself here... Well I'll make it quick.

I know that says I only joined a little while ago, but I've been one of those silent lurkers for years. I only joined to contact a guy about his ROTJ Speeder Bike build.

My name's Bob and I'm a member of the 501st Legion. You can find me on their site if you search for ID# 3279. I have a Scout Trooper and Tusken Raider costume, with a Sandtrooper in the works. I'm also building R5-D4... kind of. You can follow my non-progress of that project here. Real life has a funny way of kicking all your plans down the stairs.

Outside of Star Wars I'm eventually working on a Rorschach costume. I have some great boots that I need to dye darker and a mask with one of the more iconic comic book patterns. I have a great couple sources for the rest, so it's a matter of getting thinner before I go further.

I'm interested in a whole lot of other things from Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Fallout 3/New Vegas, various superheroes... I could go on and on I suppose but I said I'd make this quick.

See you all around!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I made a pair of really good Joker costumes for the "All Hallow's Eve" parade in NYC, before TDK was released.

I'm currently going to be crafting an Iron Man arc reactor for this season. This year saw me return to comic books in a big way. I'm reading Daredevil with Waid writing and it is an amazing read.

I'm glad to see this site exists and can't wait to create all kinds of stuff with ye.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi! I'm Angie aka Dan D Fine. MY husband introduced me to this site. We are going to FanCom this year and have to decided to dress up. We're not doing any thing as creative as some of the stuff I've seen on here though. He will be atempting Dr.Doom and I will try to pull off Ms.Marvel. :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all -- My name is Keith, and I'm a long-time comic collector that is venturing into the Cosplay realm. I've instilled my love of comics and super heroes into my three-year-old son, and he has developed a strong liking of all things Spider-Man -- Scarlet Spider is his favorite (he plays as Scarlet Spider on www.heroup.com). So I thought it would be a nice surprise for his fourth birthday to dress up as Scarlet Spider. The problem is I have NO IDEA WHERE TO BEGIN! I thought about the Zentai/Morphsuit option, but I think I want something a little more realistic. Any help with patterns, templates, and material suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, Gavin here. Found this site in someone's rant about Nerf. Yep, what an odd way to stumble upon this site. Well, the people here are really talented, and there are loads of great stuff here. ^_^.

I guess I mod/paint nerf blasters, and the occasional Transformer or Gundam. Still, I mainly collect Transformers, but I prefer keeping them in stock unpainted form. :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello! Glad to be here. I've been on a lot of internet forums, but never heard about the RPF until I saw one of Adam Savage's man cave episodes on the web.

Couple years ago, I made a Graflex ANH saber clone. It was pretty crappy, but lotsa fun! :)

My sister just asked me about making/sourcing her an M41A Pulse Rifle for her Halloween costume, so I figured I'd go to the best place on the web for that kind of thing and look around. Now... I do have a Nerf Longshot that is just sitting in the closet, and there's quite a few mods for that thing out there. I'm considering mounting the pump-action forend under the main barrel for a quasi-pulse rifle look.

Anyway, glad to be here!

- Joe

Sup guys, I found this site after obsessing over Looper and googling the blunderbuss a million times. Then i realized i should join because i always love movie props, but so far all ive got is a less than exact replica of Two Face's coin from TDK and a Gotham City PD badge

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Been visiting this great site for a while and figured I should finally register. I'm an author, (just finished a book on the 007 film franchise,) makeup artist (three years directing the makeup for Six Flags/Great America Fright Fest,) collector of monster magazines, comics, and a life-long model builder.

Last few years I've started recreating some props from my favorites films (images included.) Thanks for being part of the endless Internet...

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,

I have been a lurker here for awhile but just recently decided to signup. I have recently started working with modeling clay and plan to try and make my own costume pieces possibly with some sales if its not a huge pain and there is interest in my pieces.

I am a big fan of reevz work and initially heard about this website from his gallery page.

It looks like everyone here pretty much has a ton of talent. I mean the creations I have seen even just with pep work and foam is amazing. I hope to be able to contribute knowledge as well as gain more from being a part of this community.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there! I'm a new member to the RPF. I've been lurking for some time as a Blade Runner PDK fanatic and finally decided to join. I've been slowly acquiring PDK kits. So far I have a Rick Ross kit, another kit of questionable origin and I just picked up a David Goldberg Snubby today.
Thanks to everyone for providing such a rich resource for prop fans of every genre.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Halloo~ I'm Escher and I'm new here! I'm newish to cosplaying and even newer to prop making so I joined this site to basically be my guru when I'm like "THIS. HOW DO I DO THISSSSSS?" I'll probably be asking a ton of questions ^^;

Greetings! My name is Ian and I'm a long time maker. I tend to bounce around between digital and practical and I've dipped my toes, professionally or semi-professionally, in everything from editing to VFX and makeup to puppets. Lately my interest in props and costuming has grown and that brought me here.

I'm looking forward to participating in the conversation here. You can see a few of my past works here: The Art of Ian Strandberg | Entertainment Artist.
