New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

WhoNA never does pre-orders, but word on da streetz is to keep your eyes open for in-stock items sometime next week...

Aw geeze...that's worse than the rumor that some producer at FOX wanted David Hasselhoff to play the 8th Doctor back in the day.

That "article" is so clearly fake it doesn't deserve any attention. Just a fabrication to get everyone in a tizzy.

Of course, the one big plot hole in this episode; How did the Doctor get out of the Pandorica in the first place to be able to go back intime to Rory and give him the screwdriver?

Also, Rory and Amy are now back to there normal age, as the time line shifted. So, The Doctor never did turn up in Amy's garden there never were any cracks and Amy never travelled with the Doctor... except that it all happend. xD

I think there's enough evidence in the series so far to support that both of your plot holes don't matter. Paradox's can rewrite time.

I like to call it a self perpetuating time loop. Not a paradox. The Doctor gets released so after he is released he goes back in time and releases himself so he can go back in time and release himself ETC... A paradox is more like..in Back to the Future in 1955 when Doc Brown was on the clock tower, if he fell off and died he never would have lived to make the time machine and therefore Marty would never have gone back in time and Doc Brown would never have gone up the clock tower so he would have lived and made his time machine and Marty would have gone back in time and Doc would have gone up the clock tower fell off and died and he never would have lived to make the time machine and therefore Marty would never have gone back in time and Doc Brown would never have gone up the clock tower so he would have lived and made his time machine and Marty would have gone back in time and Doc would have gone up the clock tower and on and on into infinity repeating itself and time would never move forward between two different 30 year loops of time.

In that case, the Master never needed the paradox machine in series 3. :p

Yes he would. It is because those Toclafane traveled back in time and killed their ancestors so they never would have had children whose descendants became Toclafane who never would have gone back in time to kill their ancestors that would have had children whose descendants become Toclafane who traveled back in time and killed their ancestors so they never would have had children whose descendants became Toclafane who never would have gone back in time to kill their ancestors that would have had children whose descendants become Toclafane ETC... so the paradox machine basically keeps the Toclafane in existence regardless to the changes in their own time line and removes that time loop from happening. It basically stabilizes the time line. This is why when the paradox machine was shut down time snapped back to when the time line would have been altered by the paradox.

Hmmm...River stated herself that she wouldn't remember The Doctor if the timeline was rebooted...and she went and cut off another Time Agent's hand??

Yes, but that version of River at the wedding COULD have been a future version of herself AFTER the Doctor returned so she could have remembered him.

River can't be the Rani, nor can she kill the Doctor. That would contradict the Library episodes where she dies as River and states that the Doctor was with her the night before she went there.

I reckon she kills Rory. That would have an effect on both Amy and the Doctor and change things.

It wouldn't contradict the Library since IF she had to kill the Doctor to keep him from doing something due to his darker nature as evidenced by the Dream Lord then he would have regenerated. His 12th incarnation could have given her the Sonic Screwdriver before she went to the library. Also, IF she killed him in HER first meeting of the Doctor then she might not have known he wasn't evil at the time. Then his 12th Incarnation could have met her before she went to the library.

This seems to lie firmly in "unconfirmed rumor" status but still....made me raise an eyebrow:

Johnny Depp as Dr. Who?

You mean like this?

:lol

So...Straker...had your coffee today I see. :lol

That's an interesting figurine. What's the story behind it? It looks more like Keanu Reeves than Johnny Depp.

OH YES!

Actually it's a Sleepy Hollow figure of Depp as Ichabod Crane. :lol I did that a year or so ago when I first heard people yammering on about Depp as the Doctor and...well, let's just say that where I wouldn't want him as the Doctor in canon, IF they decided to remake the 65 Doctor Who and the Daleks film, I would cast Depp as a regenerated Doctor. I would have the first incarnation played by someone like Ian Holm or someone similar and have have him die of radiation poisoning and regenerate. I think that would be kinda neat.
