New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

I'd much rather he (Ian Holm) was the Doctor than Johnny Depp.
I have nothing against Depp, but I don't want the Doctor to become Jack Sparrow. :lol Course.. rumors were that the original outfit for Matt Smith was reminiscent of Jack Sparrow's...
 
Yea, but I also heard a rumor that Mos Def might play the 11th Doctor, so it may be better to ignore them altogether.
 
Whew. As much as I love the Doctor, I'm still smarting from the last time any sort of feature film adaptation was made (I love you, Doctor No. 8, but your TV movie portrayal was mired in the crappiness of others).
 
I counted that more a a pilot than a feature but point taken.. though i did like McGann as the Doctor and I LOVED his TARDIS, inside and out.

The Cushing films were a bit sucky though (imo) :p The TARDIS interior anyway...

I don't think Ian could play the part all the way through and having him regenerate would make it so you could have a younger action-y Doctor running about.

yeah i agree that the Tardis interior in the 60's films were crap. XD Hell, the thing didn't even make the sound when it dematerialized XP He wasn't even an ALIEN and to make it worse, his name was actually Doctor Who. D:
 
I don't remember too much about the Cushing movies. It's been a very long time since I saw them. Or one of them, not sure which I've seen.

Any pictures of the TARDIS in and out? I'm curious. :p

And the interior is different again in "Daleks Invasion of Earth 2150 A.D." I'm watching that on youtube now :lol
Actually aside from the windows, I rather like that exterior.. looks pretty good.

And uh... I refuse to call that the interior of a TARDIS. Was there any set design to it or did they just stick a load of crap in? xD

Exterior looks pretty good. EDIT: And clean. That's where the cleaniness of the new one came from...
 
Sigh. How depressing; this is the first Saturday I have not had Who to look forward to.
Oh, wait. I think I got Genesis of the Daleks in netflix! *runs to mailbox to check* :)

For me it would give the film makers freedom from having to use the stories the exact same way so as to freshen up an old and well known story and to not wind up making a feature length episode of the current series I.E. make the movie more cinematic and bigger. I'd love to see a movie that was more stylized and visually different than the current series myself.

Yeah I said the same thing. It's like they were just trying to make it look more busy as if they thought the TV series interior was boring XD
