New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

How about just casting the current actor playing the Doctor as the Doctor if a movie is ever made?

I'd like that but honestly, if they do a film, I'd want to have Paul McGann return so we could see the timewar. I mean, big budget film is probably the only way we'll ever get to see it.
I'd end it with the damaged TARDIS crashing in victorian England with the Doctor regenerating into Eccleston.

Big fanbase, yes, but big budget movie? I think not, unfortunately :\ Then again, the THunderbirds got their movie, too, didn´t they? ;)

I had to bump this thread to say that everyone should check out "Sherlock" that just debuted Sunday night in the UK. It is written by Moffat and HOLY CRAP was it fantastic. Right now it is just (3) 90min movies and if there's a God in heaven it will get turned into a series. The guy who plays Holmes actually turned down the role of the 11th doctor. he would have been amazing. But he rules as Holmes. The first ep was called "A Study In Pink" - a play off the first Holmes story "a Study In Scarlet".

it will definitely help bridge the long gap until Christmas. I have no idea if it is going to be ported over to BBC America.

and of course, Moffat's 6ep miniseries "Jekyll" is equally awesome.

carry on.

I have to agree, it was pretty awesome (apart from the on screen text message overlays ;)). Really looking forward to the next installment.

Exterior looks pretty good. EDIT: And clean. That's where the cleaniness of the new one came from...
Hartnell's Tardis was spotlessly clean when they shot the first pilot. Granted, they added weathering before they shot the aired version of the first show. I think a shot or two from the first version ended up in the final edit, though.

*BOOM* back to the top. So what are your thoughts on the new x-mas episode? I thought it was really good. Kinda ticked they didn't say what the girl's "issue" was. I thought the CGI wasn't too bad. Looking forward to the hunting episodes.

I havent seen the Christmas special yet, it doesnt come on in America for another hour and a half. I saw the series 6 trailer on youtube and it looks awesome. :)

Just finish watching the Christmas Specail, I thought it was very well done. the preview for next season - I can't wait. It looks like it is good to be a good one.

I've been watching a bit, but I guess I'm still not completely convinced with Matt Smith as the Doctor. I'm a Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant fan. But it is getting better, he's beginning to grow on me.

This last episode was fun. Michael Gambon's guest spot was well acted.

Next season does seem to be set up rather well (at least from what I saw in the special). Still not happy with the rendering on all the CGI stuff, but again, I'm really not a fan of CGI (gasp!)

"I wear a Stetson now. Stetsons are cool"
Like that quote! and I can't wait to see how they fit the footage shot in Utah into everything.

Christmas ep - loved it. I was surprised how touching it was. The bit in the beginning when the 'doc sussed out Scrooge based on some simple observations was very "Sherlockesque". Looking forward to the next season.

oh, and I got the 10th doc's flight control tardis for Christmas. woohoo.

I liked the Xmas episode, now on to the important question:

In the series 6 trailer, did Amy have the Satan markings from Impossible Planet on her face?

Loved the episode! Thought it was a lot f messing with the time-line, though. And if the isomorphic controls didn't work at the end... well, how is the machine going to be controlled without more 'Katherine Jenkins' ex machina
Ok, apart from the counting marks and Stetson already mentioned, here's what I saw:
Musketeers, River Song apparently naked, a bearded Doctor, Astronaut, return of the Ood, Nazis, The Oval Office MIB and an American road trip.
