I emailed BBC America for an estimated date and got this. I don't know if they are saying this date to make it seem like it will come earlier, but I got this.
"At this time, we are expecting more inventory on or around the 29th of October."
Nothing's changed since my post #538 yesterday. The cargo plane from Hong Kong to Chicago (via Tokyo and Anchorage) landed at O'Hare airport at 11:31 this morning (FlightAware:KZ132). We're still expecting Customs clearance to happen tomorrow (Sunday) and for the goods to be shipped out from our warehouse on Monday for delivery to BBC America (and ThinkGeek) on Wednesday.
I guess BBC America might be adding a few days' contingency in their estimate, so as not to disappoint anyone further if anything happens to cause another delay, such as a problem with the US Customs and Border Protection folk getting suspicious about the devices, which wouldn't be the most surprising thing in the world. (I had a rather frustrating argument with a TSA official a few months back, when trying to hand-carry a sonic screwdriver onto a flight at a US airport - he was concerned that I was carrying a potentially-dangerous "tool" as it was called a "screwdriver". I didn't win the argument...)
