Wow, I totally forgot about this project!
I don't know what happened either, but whoever picks this project back up and can get an actual book made, with or without writing, I'm still willing to help out.
I can even provide the Auryn and corners as long as I can get a book for my own collection.

I should add, that copyright issues with the story text aside, I am really after just the outside cover. Even a blank journal is better than NO book!

I'm still pretty new to the forum and there are a lot of threads to see, still not sure I'v found the best way to get around as yet.... Anyway I have only read the beginning and end of this thread, but I have worked on similar projects in the past, the pix I'll post is of one of them, it is actualy a storage box made to look like a book, I'v made a lot of these for people to keep thier wedding suff, photo album, classes, candles and keepsakes.. ect.. but I have also made smaller versions as diaries.... So if any want's some help or tip's let know.....

I think the best and easyest way to make a book like this would be start with a hard back Amazon.com: The Neverending Story (9780525457589): Michael Ende, Ralph Manheim: Books and then modif the cover

I have one, and it's much much too small if you're going for screen accuracy. Would be great if you just want an amazingly beautiful book that's reminiscent of the film's book, though.

Ok.. If you wanted to do a sreeen version you could use a paperback and photocopy enlarge it to get the size.. The other thing I'v notised is the thickness, I think if I was going to do this sort of project I'd use a heavy grade paper that has a antique look...
