Nerf Aliens Pulse Rifle Build

Incredible work !!! AWESOME build. Extremely creative and an extraordinary outcome !

You took a very creative approach to a difficult project. The M41 is an ICON Sci Fi movie prop - and you took on a huge challenge and made it work.

GOOD SHOW !

Wow! Just checking in and we've got round counters, motion trackers, AND sound fx added in!!! My baby's all grown up;) brilliant work everyone!!!

Hey there guys,

Very impressed with all the work going on here.

Anybody got any more updates with how their builds are going?

I've started my build (photos and details to follow) and was curious to see if anyone had added any more enhancements.

a friend of mine, who is a art major, can CNC cut them to exact size. This is awesome.

Mine is still in pieces on my workbench waiting for me to get back to it. I have a few commisions to do first though, but I did get a screen accurate sling for it from noble. Should be with me in a few days or so :)

I'm actually having my shroud parts CNC cut at a local sign maker.

I'm trying a bit of a different method of construction, I think it has the potential for both monumental success and failure.

Once I have the parts cut I'll start posting build progress pics.

Question for everyone. What thickness of Polystyrene are you most commonly using on these when needed?

I'm using foam, not styrene, cause were i live is a little hard to find, instead, we have foam and pvc, so no problem :)
But i think that because it have to be a rifle, is better if it is less flexible... I think :)

Oh, and i have finished it! Here it is!!

The counter is a piece of paper, in future i'll try do make a working one :) but the gun is fully functional :)

Has anyone thought about and/or tried this method on a Thompson airsoft gun? I know there are conversion kits out there for that sort of thing, but maybe altering the templates and scratch-building some parts could make a cheaper alternative? Anyway, just a thought.

For your first post, it's right on point. Are you going to use an Airsoft Spas for the grenade launcher?

And, Welcome to the RPF.

That's something I looked into just recently, but the airsoft SPAS is a little big compared to the nerf version. However, there is a rather decent SPAS12 toy available at Wallmart for $10 that is perfect (thanks to CB2001 for stubling across it :)).

...and here is the cage section next to the recon for a size comparison

It's been fun trying to get the parts I need sent to UK, wasn't cheap either but worth it I think, the design fits in the nerf style very well IMHO.

Thanks Fly4v for the welcoming! I'm very new to the world of prop-making (literally zero experience) but very excited to replicate some of the projects on here with some success (part of the reason I joined was because of this thread, thanks quest!). Unfortunately I won't be able to do any builds for a while as money is tight right now for me. Oh well, maybe one day in the future...

After I get my PR in hand again it looks like a visit to Walmart is in order so I can do a retro-fit. :thumbsup
