Need some ideas - Customizing a Calculator

So, I started college last year. This semester I had my first math course out of many (probably going to major in physics). Anyway, I had to get the required TI-83 Plus calculator.
Since I'll be using it for a few years, I'm looking for something prop-themed to customize it to, to make it unique. Any ideas? I'm preferably looking for something sci-fi.

Well, for starters, perhaps you can pull the case off and paint it?
Once it is off, perhaps add some sculpted detail with epoxy or in clay and cast up a replica in resin?
Maybe you cold house it in a tricorder prop (TNG or TOS?) or a TNG Engineering PADD?
You could probably fit some LEDs in above the screen and a small switch for them.
Do you like Victorian style? Maybe some fluting along the sides?
Not much room for striping tape...

It is housed in a plastic sleeve which covers the front and three sides. I checked mine - the plastic is ABS, which is workable.
How about a Necronomicon from Evil Dead?

Original BBC TV version of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy book? Don't Panic!

Sliders timer? Quantum Leap handlink? Trek PADD?

Thanks for the suggestions guys :thumbsup

I think I know what I'm going to do: a Nemesis "PDA" tricorder. My idea is to make the case, and have it where the calculator can fit snugly inside but still be taken out for battery replacement, etc. I'll probably have to custom build the case to make it fit right. Does anyone know what the dimensions of this tricorder are?
Also, where the screen should go, I'll cover with a printed plastic sheet that has images of all the calculator buttons. Like a simulated touch-screen.
