NECA 1:4 Scale PREDATOR Figure

Which ever you guys decide to get, I am hoping we all get at least one because these bad boys are going to be a very rare gem.

Hey Sabres... can you confirm the 5,000 piece release? I just want to make sure I seen this correctly. :D

Yep, that seems to be the case.

5,000 of each variant.

I have no major complaints. Yeah, they make a lot of variants that can sometimes nip at a collectors pocket but I've remained a NECA fan for quite some time. If you don't like so many variants then only buy one. To me they have always been the poor mans hot toys and instead of dropping a couple grand on an entire collection I've dropped a couple hundred. I'll gladly pay the $80 they're asking. He'll look very nice with my other large scale figures. Color me excited. :D

i'll be getting all three cause wife and i have been wanting a large scale pred for dioramas

masked - classic jungle pose
open - vs 3 neca aliens
closed - custom elder (kind of a cross over between P2 elder and AVP elder without the "downsyndrome" look the AVP preds had)

as for the price, i do agree that 80$ is kinda high compared to what NECA figures usually cost BUT i don't have a problem paying that much for a large scale figure
i'd rather pay 100$ for a NECA large scale than 400$ for a 1:6 hot toys figure (i'm not a HUGE HT fan and only buy a few things from them cause i can't afford to get a full line up thanks to their insane pricing, HT is not a collector wallet friendly company)

NECA has done changeable heads in the past (Freddy, New Nightmare) so i'm not sure why they didn't chose to do it with this figure, either way, i was going to get 3 anyway, but for those who have a tighter budget, that kind of does suck

To me the price is no surprise. They've been feeling out fan reactions for a couple months about pricing and willingness to pay. From what they had said on their twitter it just wasn't cost effective to get the detail and paints they wanted for the price of a standard 18" figure.

I've been waiting for this figure since they toyed with the idea around the time they produced the AVPR stuff. Can't wait.

Well if they are going to be a limited run. I went ahead and pre-ordered mine at bigbadtoystore.com. Not going to miss out on this...

A couple of 'behind-the-scenes' pics of the 1:4 scale figure in production.

damn, posted the same pics in the other thread.

guess i shouldn't try to outspeed you :p

yep, it's not accurate at all, but i hope it's just a proto. looks like it's gonna be a hard to remove it. (e.g. for repaint)

I was on the fence about buying more than one..guess that has changed wiht this new pics. Thanks Sabres!! :p
I can already see myself doing a dio with the open mouth version in just the same exact pose as the proto pics. and
another dio of the close mouth taking the helmet off and the helmeted one hanging from a tree.

that was nice

72.99 each at cornerstorecomics and amazing toyz... 199.99 for all 3 at bigbadtoystore, they did change the individual price for some reason... was a cool 74.99 for each...

Wow, that just made the decision on getting the open mouth versus the closed mouth a lot harder. That closed mouth looks really nice. Too bad I can only afford just one or I'd end up with em all.

Also, I'm going to have to agree that the netting looks off. This netting is more octagon shaped while the original was diamond shaped. I think it gives it a modern feel I don't much care for. What gets me is that it's screen accurate on their prototypes. It's just something glaringly obvious to us predator fans. I can't complain too much though because the sculpts look out of this world. Pun intended.
