NECA 1:4 Scale PREDATOR Figure

not tooting my own horn but i was the one who did the research and identified about 80 percent of the skulls for the guy, but sadly no i cannot remember who he was... the threads gotta be there somewhere though perhaps in "predator discussion" section?.. i know he opened up more than one thread about it, just can't remember which one took off...

man i can't wait till april... should have plenty of time to save, that is if HT don't throw a tracker in by then...

and no i think he was just responsible for the trophies and cannon, if i remember correctly.

See ..I knew I was on the right track!
for the life of me I can't find the thread. oh well .Hellonearth Thank you for chiming in and thank you for helping identify the skulls(Also thank you to the other members that at one point or another found out what kind of skulls he had on his bandolier. :D

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! (screamed like a school girl getting her first kiss!!) OMG now this just makes my day. I will get all versions... Paint work better be up to par.... OMG!!!

I take it some people are just never happy and truly believe in their sense of entitlement.
;) What's that supposed to mean? :D

I take it you do not feel/understand my sentiments towards NECA's decision on how to distribute this figure? I am sorry, but there is no need to be rude about it. I am very happy that they decided to create this figure, but I am not made of money and think that this is a big move by NECA to ensure their profits are there by demand. I tell it how I see it. It may not be correct, but it does not mean that I "believe in my sense of entitlement".

Don't let being the Lair's go to guy for the newest PRED merchandise pic's go to your noodle.

Oooooh! Daddy likes, he likes very much! ;)

Definitely a must have. But...

WHICH HEAD DO I CHOOSE?!?!?!?! ARGH! :D

NECA has ALWAYS stated that they don't do swappable heads.

You're getting a 22", movie accurate Predator for less than half of what Hot Toys charges...and you want to complain because it doesn't include all 3 heads in the box?

And to call them greedy...when they're a BUSINESS...out to make MONEY...is ridiculous.

=Be happy that we're even getting it and lose the sense of entitlement.

You may think that way, but I sure don't. There is no sense of anything other than not wanting to be bent over the table by NECA. They could EASILY do three heads in one package. Its a matter of them wanting to make money which I understand. But dag nabbit lookit the size of that bugger and tell me that most people have room for three in their hous/apartment without snickering!

As a consumer I want the most bang for my buck and as the business they want all of my hard earned money...there will never be a happy medium...

BAM!

SABRES...Still the King of updates.

BENSIN...Wannabe

:D I can still live forever knowing I won...at least once. ;)

...but I have to agree, 80 dollars for a figure is a lot if they don't have additional heads. I think NECA is looking to cash in on an 80 dollar figure with 3 variants. Yes they are a business, but I see Revoltech figures being made by a similar business and they come with a whole lot of extras. This is the biggest reason why I just don't like NECA.

All that aside, if it actually looks like the picture I may get 'one' of the variants. Cool to see they're listening to the customers.

Yeah, but a Revoltech Pred is $40 (half the price of the NECA) and not even a quarter of the size.

What they should of done was release a colored version of the Predator with three heads and then release a stealth version of the predator with three heads. Think they would of made their money either way.

Hot Toys style mandibles could be a good option for this. But a this scale the join would have to be spot on

That's true, but then there are Hot Toys slightly higher in price, with a ton more accessories and additional hands/heads. It's just foolish to price something at 80 bucks and then offer variants where the only difference is the head. Though that's not to say other manufacturers haven't done the same thing. I'll buy one of the variants, but that's it - even if I had the money to be spending on 3 large 80 dollar figures, I don't want 3 large, 80 dollar figures. ...sure would be nice to have the alternate heads though.

Not that I know, but if this isn't going to be a wide release, huge money maker for NECA then why not just throw in the additional heads and call it a hundred bucks even?

well no offence to revoltech, or you, but sure they have plenty of extras, now lets just put side by side "neca's P1 predator" and "revoltechs P1 predator" IMO, no comparison, on sculpt at least, who know's maybe they (revoltech) may end up availing with the paintup , but sculpt and overall quality... revoltechs looks like **** compared to necas.

and not to mention, last time i checked i paid twice as much for my revoltech alien, as i did my neca alien. point being revoltech isn't exactly looking "golden" at the moment as far as i'm concerned.

other point being, neca's 1/4 scale P1 (and their smaller counterpart) is more "accurate" than HT, for HALF THE PRICE as previously stated. i feel, whether or not it comes with all three heads (or extra hands) or not, we're finally getting the P1 we deserve, slightly (and i do mean slightly) less articulated, but spot on compared to HT.

i dunno, yes, it does suck that they chose to have three different versions, instead of the head swapping, but if they did the price would be right damn near up there with HT's preds, deeming it somewhat impractical for what neca does, i for one am happy we get a 22" P1 at all, that isn't some cheap vinyl recast of a lesser sculpt... anyhow not to argue with anyone, seriously, just providing a different perspective, you could potentially get two of these variants which are almost twice as tall as HT preds for (less than) the price of one HT pred, it makes plenty of sense to me, but to each his/her own ;)

i'm just damn pleased, can't help it. weighing the pros and cons, i'll take at least two! and if neca's counting on that, then fine, i'm cool with that, i feel they're going the extra mile on the sculpt and details (i.e. seperate netting, etc.) so why shouldn't i
