NCR Veteran Ranger- And other Fallout related props.

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

Anyone know how much Canvas shrinks when its dyed, and what color would be best? Looks greenish brown in the game.

Oh I forgot, the issue of the backpack, I believe it to be a rebreather but I cannot be sure. Howver these do look similar.

I went to lowes today to get all the materials needed to do a vacc-pull of the PVC pipes and connectors, but the checker at Lowe's wanted to charge me 5.50 per foot for 1/2 vinyl tubing. She was so rude I just threw my stuff down and walked out. Looks like I will be heading to a different store tomorrow.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

You didn't price it first? I know it sucks to put up with bad service, but I never walk up to a register without knowing what I'm spending. Definitely not worth throwing a hissy fit.

You just had to be there to fully understand the situation of how rude this person was from the start. I don't normally get angered but after I was pretty much called stupid, I was done. I did have the number, that is where the problem stemmed. I don't see dropping your stuff on the counter and leaving being a hissy fit.

Too true, and in that case I might have acted the same. Oh, I just wanted to use the term in a sentence. Thanks for that, by the way. :lol

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 9/17]

I wasn't looking for praise or being an attention *****. Just trying to get some basic information on things not listed in anyone elses threads. I just want to add anything to this build constructive or otherwise to help others if they ever attempt this, so its all laid out for them.

i would strongly suggest you try step by step tutorials on how you've done the various pieces, if you want this thread to be useful for others who attempt this, your work is looking great, but you really aren't going into any kind of detail on how you've done the various parts,
mostly you are sharing just finished pics of the parts you've finished.

there's nothing wrong with that per sey, i personally am enjoying seeing your work, but in regards for this being a useful resource for those tackling the NCR armor? less so right now.
that can change if you cover how you build the pieces, perhaps have step by step photos? ect,
and of course, this is just my opinion.

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

Ya I suck at taking pictures. I get in some sort of zone and I don't stop to take pictures. My friend wants one of these as well, So I will take pictures of some of the process. But honestly, I don't really know what is missing from these builds.

I guess I misspoke and am more or less looking for real world solutions of how this armor would look in real life. The help I have received thus far has been great. I would love to get together and make helmet stickers but I do not have a good bit map of them.

Yeah, that looks like a rescue rebreather, used to get out of mines and burning buildings and such.
Since there is a filter on the mask, the rebreather would just be a backup for real bad atmospheres with no oxygen.

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

Worked on the forearm armor, still waiting on the Pip-boy.

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

I got my pip boy today from zookone, it is really detailed and I could not be happier with it. Have to modify it more than likely for it to fit.

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

Looking good I hope you'll be done soon!

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

lol you and me both, but it seems bittersweet the closer I get, plus I know it will need a lot of tweaking to make it a costume I want to wear for years, like I plan too.

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

I worked on my jacket and armor over the last few days, what do you think?

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

Every thing is really nice man! I love the jacket and armor!!!

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

I'm dying to see what this will all look like put together. The mask and helmet are freaking awesome!

Re: NCR Veteran Ranger -A work in progress-[Pictures Added 10/20]

Thanks again :p Ya I can't wait my self. I have test fitted all the parts and they seem to go together nicely, I just want as much mobility as I can get, and I don't want to post pictures of me in it until its complete. I got some more work done to the pep gun I'm making from sign plastic and I made the pouch open to carry either healing pouches or stimpacks.

I couldn't help but post a picture of my armor sitting in my room my friend thought it was real lol.
