OK yeh, FYI Simon, I think the Leichter hull is trimmed too, the corners above the doors are cut off so that instead of a truncated triangle the hull side forms an actual triangle.

Thanks for the .dxf Paul!

It's definitely trimmed in length just not sure at what point from the bottom. I'll lay out the plant on kitparts tonight so as to get the length then work out the angle.

Not length Simon! I don't think so anyway. Height. One of the upper edges of the hull is cut back to make the sides a perfect triangle - I did mine last night and it makes for a perfect fit against the Bower engine casting, which I think is probably definitive.

Paul - yep sure are, thanks muchly. Did I reply to your email? Sorry if not!!! I made some changes to the nozzle mount area last night to better fit, then re-lofted the engine body which should have been quick but wasn't and still needs some fixes. The "seat" and back parts are done - I used elements from your .dxf as booleans for the engine so the fit should be pretty exact.

Just need to knock off the tapers on the front and underside. Hopefully have something to post tonight.

You mean like this? I know the end on the right is cut for the Sam cylinders.-75F47E4884B3-125-000002E37F45E9A8.jpg[/IMG]

Close but no - the cut runs across the top of the doors to the end of the chassis; I don't think it loses any length.

I've already done mine so it can be your casting piece if you want, don't mod yours unless you're loaded with them.

The nice bit is that doing it that way gives an exact match with the angle of the front of the Bower engine, as I say. Verification I think!

Ah.. Top of the doors as on the leichter so not like dis? Got it. With the length I just meant at the very end. I have your armature by the way.

Yeh that's it. Nah I don't think it loses any length, no need to. Armature sounds good, pop around whenever or I can come up your way.

Engine, arrrgh. Getting the right taper took all night but I think I have it. Still a few placeholder surfaces but the basics are there. Detail it tomorrow.

Holy crap, seriously? It'll obscure a lot of detail. Are you doing the whole garage, or just going to hang it from some kind of overhead arm?

Sorry thinking out loud. Started id'ing it though. I meant the clamp thinghy's on the side. Not sure what the original piece was though undoubtably a found part. Looks like the Tarp rail you would use on a caravan or something. Were gonna have to get it printed though.

Almost there... Will post some pix tonight. Spent two hours pulling all the parts I've id'd off the sprues last night. Should have done it as I went along really.

Ooh Paul I have found a part that needs adjusting. The part that sits on top from the nose to the cockpit does actually start right at the very front and not a gap. The styrene sits back a bit but the "block" starts right from the Nose wall if you like. It has kitparts that go along side.

No worries Simon, maybe you could just make some notes of anything you find that needs adjusting and we can go through them once you are done.
Ah - OK, I see what you mean. I was fooled by the styrene being offset. I'll make the change.

Random pic of the day...
