Narcissus Builders Club N Stuff.

:lol

Dudes, I have a concern about the location of those conical drum details on the stern, and in turn about the overall length of the 'tails' that they sit on, and the nozzles.

I know they're definitely not correctly shown on my old side view, but in trying to pin this down I'm finding parallax is an issue in every single one of the reference shots. Some make it look like the drums are fully forward of the end of the nozzles, others like they're fully aft of that point. (If that were correct, we'd need to stretch the acrylic 'tail' parts).

My guesstimate is that it's likely the centre line of these drums which is in line with the tips of the nozzles. Agree/disagree?

Styrene layout signed off yet Simon? :D

No..... Someone printed them too small so it's taking longer!!!! Actually the well underneath for example the styrene sits perfect on the sides but the length is off. Go figure. By Monday it should be ready. Except Now Martyns gone and buggered up everything. We need another meeting. Tomorrow morning?

I spent the entire day sanding!

Much easier to photograph now!...

I'm reminded of those 'invisible' science model kits. Very cool.

Martyn, I don't have the engines or nozzles modeled, so I can't compare references from it's edges...

I've had the A1 prints sitting on my desk since the begining of the week!...
When and where?

I plan to be having a very good morning around that time. :p

10 would be fine?

Oh let's be honest. 9:05. :lol

Thanks Paul, hadn't checked my mail, but yes it looks like it's there, all good. I'll add a flange or two to the clamp model and get it into the print queue tonight.

My question re the nozzle and conical drum wossnames isn't specific to the engine model btw - I'm more asking what's your impression. The answer helps determine how long the final nozzle model should be, along with other things.

I'm struggling to get the drum centreline lined up with the nozzle tips, which is how I intuit it. My photogrammetry skills aren't all that great unfortunately so I get different answers from different pics. Still lean towards that being the correct one though.

Amen to that. I'll try and print off a few ref pics then. Oh wait I keep forgetting, got a tablet, derrrr. :)

PS Chances of Simon forgetting to bring the proto: 100%.

:p

Shut it Graver, I won't warn you again. Paul, can ya bring some bits of 2 by 4 as well? Never mind, that'd make you an accessory, I'll dig something up. :lol

I'm easy, or so it says on the wall in the toilets. Whatever suits you guys best. Apparently we're expecting fairly heavy rain BTW, take care on the roads!

Watertight now...also totally revised outlines...turns out Mr. Bower does know what he's doing rather better than I do! Last night Paul spotted a key error which had the location of our engines off by about 10mm. Doesn't change the outline (of the hull/overall), does change the engine length, height, width, etc etc. Fixed now; most of my dims are now within half a mm of Mr. Bower's. DOH! :lol
