My Rocketeer Collection Update 12/17 new layout and info

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Pic hEAVY)

Ive always wanted a Rocket Pack and a Helmet

some day when im makin good money im gonna get them
and the jacket
ill do the whole costume
ive wanted to ever since i was a kid

The rocketeer costume is one of my favorite super hero costumes growing up...I been wanting to put together a more accurate costume, but I just havent had the time. Also, it is really expensive to put the whole thing together. When you decide to put it together, let me know and I can tell all the places to get everything.

I recently picked up a few more rocketeer items: lobby cards, signed postcards, and another marketing guide the studio used.

That's one fantastic collection. Congratulations!

I have to go pick up that flick now!

I agree that Dave Stevens designed one of the the all time great costumes with the Rocketeer and that the movie did a great job translating it to the screen.

Very, very enviable collection.

Hey great collection and it was great seeing it at the Prop Party.

I had a chance to pick up the Mauser at the party and it had a good solid weight to it. What company made that? There is a metal version on ebay that seems to be cheap or was yours another version?

i recently came across one of those Bulldog Cafe cookie jars, thing is huge!

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Pic hEAVY)

Wow...looks like you have every prop possible from that movie.....except for maybe one tiny, simple one......

do they still make the jet pack resin kits ?

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Pic hEAVY)

awesome collection!! It's so comprehensive. :thumbsup

What really caught my eye were those bronze bowen statues. very very nice.

Those by far aren't the "best" props you have there... I just like the look of them. Those accurate helmet castings are really cool too

Thanks for sharing.

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Pic hEAVY)

What a great collection! Did Dave Stevens ever get a chance to see it? He would have been so proud....

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Pic hEAVY)

After seeing this collection I had to watch the movie again. Your collection is really AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Pic hEAVY)

This is what you should do! Get into full costume and go to a parachutists simulator, the tubes that have a huge fan underneath and actually fly!!!!

Is that crazy or a cool idea?

Thanks Guys for all of the compliments :thumbsup

I am not really sure which company made it or what version mine is. I bought it a year or so ago on the evilbay. It is a gas gun, and I the owner mentioned he upgraded it? I never owned a gas gun before, so I really didnt know what he meant. I love the gun.

i recently came across one of those Bulldog Cafe cookie jars, thing is huge!

Yeah, I was fortunate mine didnt crack while it was being shipped. The seller sold three of them, and mine was the only one that made all the way without being damaged.

Haha, I thought about making a version of it, but I figured it would be lost among the pile of certificates and paperwork.

Any chance of me getting a jetpack like yours?

do they still make the jet pack resin kits ?

ACME still fabricates the jetpack. It is very costly, but it is a great kit. If you are interested, shoot me a pm, and i will give you the contact number to acme.

What really caught my eye were those bronze bowen statues. very very nice. .

The bronze bowen statues are great pieces. They have a lot of history or story behind them. At first, they were planning to make 500 hot-cast bronze statues but stopped after 50. This is where it gets a little tricky. It was said that only 50 of them exist, but other reports say only 35 of them were actually sold because 15 of them were somewhat damage or unsellable. I was able to find two other collectors with the statue, and they both have numbers under 35. Also, there were 10 resin versions made during the same time the hot-cast versions were created. These are not the bowen version. So technically, three versions exist: hot-cast bronze (35 or 50), resin version (10), bowen (1,000)...

What a great collection! Did Dave Stevens ever get a chance to see it? He would have been so proud....

Unfortunately, he never had the chance to see it. It is sad because I found out recently that he lived really close by and frequent a comic book store in orange. Also, I didnt get most of my movie props until a few months after he passed away. However, one of his close personal friends have seen it, and a few crew members have seen my collection.

This is what you should do! Get into full costume and go to a parachutists simulator, the tubes that have a huge fan underneath and actually fly!!!!

Haha, great Idea. I would have to wear my fan made pack though because I wouldnt want to risk damaging the acme kit.

I plan on updating the original post in a few more days...I have several items on the way! I cant wait to finally get them..
