My obsession with Vader's lightsaber props

For the barbican and energizer did you 3d print the shrouds and do you perhaps willing to share?
I did but both are incorrects.
The Barbican looks a bit off when compared to the original one, especialy the square section, not as wide as it should on mine. Plus my shroud was designed to fit on a 38mm tube. The real Barbican had a slightly ticker base (between 38mm and 39mm I guess).

I have two energizer shrouds and I've reworked both after printing them up. The first one was based on the slimmer ILM cast, designed bigger to fit the maglite body.
The second one, closer in my opinion, is smaller than the first one but certainly closer to the real deal than the first one.

I'd be willing to share them if I still have them stored somewhere.

Yes please if you happen to find them. I'm not the best at 3d modeling yet. Mine most likely will be around the same sizing as yours as I'm working with 2 dia pipe for barbican and maglite that I found that should be the right era.

Some pictures of my last energizer lightsaber built around a 3 cells maglite with 3d printed parts. Let's say that one is the "speculative edition" (SE in other words :D) as I've made it following my own conclusions about how the original prop would have been in its initial state. Not entirely accurate but I'm fine with it.

Next to my only MPP Vader lightsaber bought two years ago from a really cool RPF member. I love that stuff, it's so genuinely *****d up.

Crazy lookin flashgun you have there. Looks sweet!

That project slept in a box for a couple of years. I had good reference material to work on it.
I'm not sure I can handle it, that's a cleanly made prop.
This will be the occasion to try Green stuff chrome laquer :) .

Roy's parts were barely left in my mail box I was instantly beating them up as hard as I could.
That kit is INSANE and I now can express my hate for pristine lightsabers by building the ugliest lightsaber of the galaxy

I'm sure someone already had the same observation but, I've seen clamps for tubing installation in my jobplace.
The Vader MOM shroud might be made out of something similar.

Hate leads to the dark side, but this is a valid reason
Can't wait to see more Benjo

Let's go with the MOM/DV6

This is the first Vader saber prop I ever saw back in May 1997. For many years I've considered it as the one true Vader lightsaber and it's still a very special prop to me, even since I realized how ugly and wonky it actually is.

I 've started to build my replica around 2020 out of a "Graflex Shop" flash tube, using the early template available back then to drill the screw holes. I also had resin parts found on Ebay, Wannawanga grips and clip, and various parts made from scratch at the time.

Then Wannawanga released his crazy DV6 kit. Many People started to build insane replicas out that kit, some were so close to the real thing that I felt discouraged: my unfinished replica couldn't stand the comparison so I gave up with it until recently, when a random guy on a Facebook page told me I absolutely had to finish it.

So here it is. Not the most accurate, I've made a few stupid mistakes I'm not gonna talk about. I'm not done with it.

Wannawanga parts used:
DV6 shroud/D-ring emitter stuff/Ball-catch bearing
Grips
Kobold clip/D ring

While some of you try to replicate each scratches, grip angles and all, I don't.
I just distressed it the wild way, by leaving it in a bag full of stones and shaking it.
I also cut each T-tracks approximately without sanding anything. The idea was to get something that looked genuinely sloppy.
To emulate years of storage inside Lucasfilm archives I just droped it in my vacuum cleaner bag. That was my final touch :) .

All my gratitude goes to Roy/Wannawanga who did an incredible job by replicating accurately the parts of that prop.

Excellent ... I'm glad I was able to convince Roy a while back to create these wonderful parts when I did, ... so you Benjo could finally finish this precious lightsaber prop :)

Well in that case I have to thank you both for your contribution and the help/positive feedbacks on that thread.

Benjo, that came out fantastic! If you are disappointed with those results, I should just stop trying.
Thank you very much :).
I strongly invite you to keep trying. The thing is, Roy's part are so close to the real deal so that every mistakes/inaccuracies jump out very badly.
