MR TOS Enterprise - new pics

Anyone know if there is another Con appearance planned?
That might be the next chance for photos. Not much came out of the Vegas display of the model unfortunatly.

I'm liking the progress on this item. Do we think it will ship by the end of 2006 or is early 2007 more likely? Barry, what is your estimate?

I just didn't want this to fall too far out of consciousness.... not to be too pushy... but...

Any new pics out there?.?.?

I shot this at World-Con LA, lights not on.

I actually got to hold this one. It was surprisingly light. Felt very much like holding one of the Polar Lights 1:350 1701s.

It seems the ONLY nit left to pick is the issue of the nacelle dome fan blade lines still meeting in the middle,
as discussed on pages 2 & 3. Everything else looks better than any other replica ever- including the digital redo planned for the TOS re-re-release. (No reddish ring there.)

The world con one is not the latest version. The Vegas con was the latest and should have the latest nacelle config.

Some Trek enhanced shots of the CG TOS E.........

Scroll down a bit.

So whats the deal on the sensor dome lines? I see they have made them rather obvious on the CG model.

Were they drawn on the outside continuing the gridlines?

Were they internal? Were they on the bridge dome too?
[/b]

They're internal struts, clearly visible through the clear dome. They are NOT on the bridge dome.

The nacelle fan blades have been adjusted since the last one shown. They'll be correct on the release version.

Barry,.. thanks for the continued updates.

Is this piece still on schedule for the original stated release date?

I just want to make sure that everyone knows that the Enterprise that was shown at World Con was not the same one that was shown in Las Vegas. The version that was shown in Las Vegas was the latest engineering sample that we had received.

However, in order to keep the development on time, we had to send that model back to Asia with the minor revisions that had to be done.

So the one that was shown at World Con was the same one that was shown at Comic Con back in July, which as you can see from the model in Las Vegas, has been updated significantly.

Thanks to Barry and MR for keeping us all in the loop. I can't STAND this waiting... I've been very good and patient before... with other things, but this one... MAN I am chompin' at the bit.

I can't WAIT to see pics of a whole room full of Enterprises being worked on... getting ready for shipping... TOO cool.

although the box is gonna be MAMMOTH.... ah well... too great....

this in not to say that you should stop with the updates... hehehehe... keep 'em comin'....

cheers,
-r.

Thanks, Barry, for the update.
It's great to know that MR is really listening... now more than ever, that is.
So... if it was ever decided to re-work the Classic Phaser and issue a "Second Edition" (hint), I think sales would be utterly guaranteed.

If you notice the CGI model has the little phallace as well but the tip is red... not gonna touch that...

The bridge also has the ribbing effect. If you click on the link then the pics twice it blows up to a really gigh res pic and the ribs are clearly visible. I think that the CGI model looks great but the corona effect around all the lights is too much. other then that I think its a darn good looking mode that after they complete CGI by adding the simulated film "grain" I think it should look very realistic.

Didn't the MR site says winter 2006? Since winter starts in december, and then 2006 ends at teh end of december... we "should" expect it to start shipping and arriving early 2007...

Release date?? 2006?? 2007??? 2259??? ;)
[/b]

2259 I think is for the full scale functional edition.

Dilithium crystals not included.

Limited edition of 12.

Yes, I know what the MR site had said. But that's a pretty big window and we all know how MR is about shipping dates sometimes. Personally, I'm willing to wait for the "perfect" Enterprise. ;)
