movies you like that everyone else hates

I really liked The Avengers with Ralph Finnes and Sean Connery. But most people I know can't stand it.

There's three Starship Trooper movies? :confused

Man am I out of the loop! :lol
There's 3 live-action films... Paul Verhoeven's original theatrical release, and 2 Direct-to-DVD sequels.

And the newest film, Starship Troopers: Invasion is an all CG animation extravaganza, made by an anime studio. Good flick that finally shows us the powered armor more like in the book! :cool:thumbsup

Then there's the CGI TV series Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles that was made in the late '90s/early aughts as a mash-up of the novel and movie. And rarest of all, you have the 6-episode anime OVA adaptation from the late '80s that has only ever been released on VHS and Laser Disc in Japan, and has NEVER received an official US release AT ALL. You'd think Sony/Columbia/Tri-Star would've subbed or dubbed it by now and brought it out over here to make even more money on the franchise, but they seem to have no interest in that. Still, if one searches around down the shady alleys of the interwebz, one can find a copy of it, subtitled in English. ;)

The Amazing Spider-Man. Some love, some hate. Most people I know IRL hated it and i get a lot of crap since i'm a Spider-Man collector. but I really liked it! I'm a HUGE Spider-Man fan and thought it was great. Hated the Lizard though to be honest...

Ruby in Paradise....it's Ashley Judds first and best...nothing like anything she has done since...can't find it on DVD...only VHS

Indy 4 - I can forgive so much of this movie. It was just great to see Indy on the big screen again. I can forgive the whole hide in a fridge from a nuke part. I can look past the whole aliens part. Hasn't anyone else watched shows like Ancient Aliens? What if some of their crackpot ideas were true? No more crazy than having some of the other things in the Indy movies. I just can't stand Shia. Especially the whole swinging on vines with monkeys part. That was terrible. I guess just the overuse of CGI in general was bad.

GI Joe - It was just like the cartoon. It was a live action cartoon. What were people expecting? Yeah the accelerator suit part was lame, but that was just a small part.

Terminator Salvation - We got to see the world post judgment day. Best of all we saw a young Arnold T-800.

I still say that Indy IV was not nearly as bad as everyone thinks.

Comparatively, is the worst of all the Indy films? Absolutely. But is it bad enough for me to not consider that it exists? Definitely not.
