Film series that should have been left alone.

...But then this answer to the question "Why did Gaff let her go twice?" caught my eye:

Basically everything that was good in this world... :lol:

There are really no redeeming examples where the classic 1,2 or even third movie were improved upon by 4,5,6 etc in the series.

At best they just re-hash some of the good stuff from the first two films or at worst take a giant dump on them to the point of embarrassment.
I'd argue that the TOS movies were an exception. TMP was boring but was redeemed by TWoK, 3 was ok, 4 was great, 5 was meh, but 6 was good.

Fast & Furious is an exception to a lot of movie series rules.

From #4 to #7 was the best stretch out of 10 (so far). IMO #5-6 were the peak.

Are you James Woods?!
The story line I've seen was this: Rachael exits the Spinner and walks in the snow, followed by Deckard. "I've never felt snow before", while grabbing a hand full. Her back is turned to Deckard...a shot echo in the stillness of the woods! While her blood stains the snow slowly, Deckard walks to the Spinner and heads back to the city. End credits;)

The overwhelming majority of them. The second it becomes about studios making a buck and not artists and their vision, it should never be made.
That would be the majority of movies then since the vast majority of movies are made with the intent of making money. It's really only movies made by the small, obscure att house studios that get made for art and even then I'd wage that most hope to make at least their budget back.

I meant ONLY making money. Most things in Hollywood these days are made by committee specifically for the purpose of making money with zero artistic merit or directorial voice whatsoever. Making your money back is great, but Hollywood hasn't been doing that lately, have they? It's all cookie-cutter garbage with an agenda and that fails miserably.

Can you say "Snow White"?:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Sequels are usually worse when you make an actual MOVIE. That means a whole story that works as a standalone.

The big summer tentpoles now . . . they have become like 2-hour episodes of a TV mini-series.

The post-credit scene in a Marvel movie is basically "Will the dynamic duo get out of this? Tune in next week! Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel!"

Cocoon was great. Sequel not so much.
Loved Creepshow but none of the sequels were that good. Although I did enjoy the tv series over the last few years.
Happy Death Day was fun but the sequel was pretty bad.
