Modified Snow Wolf Pulse Rifle Completed

Guy, let me find a box big enough and I'll get it.........Yeah right!!!!!!!!!!!
iDarkDesign, don't wait too long, they wont be around or this plentiful forever! And thanks for the kind words.
mattrendar, thanks for the compliments. I highly recommend Majenko's electronics. I could easily see his board in a Smart Gun.

Are Pulse Rifles ever "done"? I just got my V2 FX Module Board from Majenko the other day. I originally had white LEDs in the barrel and GL. I was never really happy with them though. I switched to yellow in the barrel and red in GL. Again, these were just regular LEDs. Still not happy. In the past I have used Rebel LEDs ina few builds. They are super tiny, but SUPER BRIGHT! I decided this is what I should have done in the first place! These came in today. They are a warm white for the barrel and a red/orange for the GL.

Very excited you got this in, looking forward to hearing how you make all this come together, and I am still in for the offer to look at it closely for you, if you still want to send it to me to evaluate....lol...

I got the V2 FX Module Board installed in my PR today. I also took the opportunity to shorten and tidy up some of my wiring. I'm still running the powered speaker. The counter was moved over a few mm per Majenko. It fits in there better but for a Snow Wolf PR you will still have to trim a small portion of the SPAS to get it to fit. If there is ever a V3 I would like to see the counter mounted all the way to the right hand side of the board.

Majenko posted in his for sale thread all the upgrades this board has so I wont go into them here. I will say you don't hear any "white noise" from the speaker now. It wasn't a problem on the V1 but you were aware there was a speaker on with that board. Sound level? Easily much louder now! Still not "blow out your eardrums" loud, but it will make itself known at Cons that this is one special PR.

I am very happy with this Version 2 of the FX Module Board (Majenko, need to come up with a snappy name for it!). I was very happy with the V1 as well and will miss it. It will be going to a new home Monday. I will try and get a video loaded tonight. I also added the white Rebel and red/orange Rebel to the barrels as well. Much happier with this light show. They are just so tiny that they are a pain to solder!

Since I sold the Tracer Unit I need to replace my barrel. I had the tip machined down to fit the Tracer Adapter. I need to get it back to stock looking.

My hats off and a great bow to Majenko for putting out what I consider the best PR sound effects board on the market. It's loaded with features, sounds great, is easy to wire up, and is well below what other boards have cost in the past. Thank you Sir!

For those that are interested, here is a short video. I may add a piece of scuffed clear plastic over the GL LED, just to diffuse the light a little bit. You can see in the video that when you rack the GL it shows you how many grenades you have left. It's the number with the dot on the bottom. After you rack it goes back to showing how many ammo rounds you have left in the magazine! Too cool! Click on the black square.
Oh, my cheap camera makes the counter digits look burned out, they are not, it's a cheap camera!

O.K. now I'm calling this done!
Unless of course I decide to swap out the shrouds with a set from Matt.....and maybe swap out the SPAS for one of Matt's, or an HCG SPAS....or.....

Oh that makes me want a V2 so bad, that's what I was waiting to see, nice job Robiwon , ..........

Majenko I am going to want to buy one of those V2 in about a month
...I like the way that came out....wow...very happy for you Robiwon...

Majenko, you done great work on those boards.....

Thanks Guy. I'm happy with the V2. The V1 is no slouch either. Both of them I feel blow the others out of the water. Especially for cost.

Yeah the V2 sounded real great, I was curious as to why the V1 had a bad glitch with the speaker , as to why the V2 has no complications ??? because if your like me , clarity and realism is where its at.....I know its not anyones fault for that happening , I was just curious , as to why or what causes that difference in the 2 of them, one has white noise and the other does not ???

Guy, I'm not sure. Once I hooked up that speaker ball speaker it ran fine. I think the issue was the board may have been designed without using a speaker in the R&D of the board. It just took some experimentation to find the right type of speaker. If someone has a V1 go to the Shack grab an iPod speaker ball and rip the speaker out. You're good to go!

Oh ok , so it was primarily , using the right speaker , get the right results....makes perfect sense....I was just curious, electronics is not my most expertise....LOL...my PR board that I got from Hyperdyne was hard enough due to no room to play with wires, I may have had an inch to sauder before permanently sealing the shrouds ....man I still had nightmares over that one....LOL

Figured I'd join this thread, as I am doing a similar build.

Has anyone looked at modding the Matrix shot counter to count down when you press the trigger (instead of using the motion sensor)? I'm going to put the Majenko board in mine, but I'd like to see if I can use the old parts for another build.

What is the best way to avoid the rear of the shroud cracking? Would never moving the stock prevent it cracking?

Keith.

Keith, the problem with the cracking shroud is the roll pin that is right there at the rear corner. It is extremely close to edge of the plastic. My suggestion would be to strip the gun down and remove the roll pins. You may crack it doing so, so be very careful. If it does crack you can fix it with some putty and repaint the shrouds. Reassemble the PR without those pesky pins, they aren't really needed. The gun is still pretty solid held together with just the screws in the shrouds.
