What is the best putty for filling? I'm using testors putty but it dosent spread easy. I think bondo is too strong. Any thoughts?

Depends on what you're trying to fill, how thick it is, how strong you need it, what's the final finish, what type of paint, if you're painting it.

Filling what? Scratches? Gap? Cracks? Fiberglass? Styrene? ABS?

There are also other options than putty.
Depending on what needs to be filled I have used baking soda to fill the gap and drip low viscosity superglue on the baking soda. Then file it smooth.

Something they used a lot back when I used to work at McFarlane Toys was cornstrach baby powder mixed with hedium or high viscosity superglue. again filing it smooth.

Don't much care for putty myself. Not saying it's wrong but it's not my preference.

I should have did a search first there are a bunch of threads concerning this. I'm building an E-11 and want to fill seams between the glued on parts and the barrel.

As said application will help dictate what you might want to use...

For me I use the following Bondo Spot Putty, Squadron Putty (thin with acetone), Bondo (thin with polyester resin, acetone or styrene **FYI styrene is a clear liquid solvent, not to be confused with polystyrene**) I have also done the talc or corn starch and super glue, as well as heavy bodied epoxies like JB weld, or even 5 minute epoxy... Heck I have even used a pour of casting resin for larger fills... For surface pin holes or scratches, even small seam lines, I generally just brush on a coat or two of 2K urethane primer in those areas and sand smooth...

Lots of options depending on what you are doing...
