MCL34N's Amazing Spidey- 1 Year Later (New Pics Bottom of 29)

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (Pic Heavy)

I really like the look of it so far but I'm not gonna get too hyped until I read some reviews. I just don't wanna get my hopes up just to have them get shot down.

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (Pic Heavy)

Like all the components of his suit, I'm pretty sure he made his own files.

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (Pic Heavy)

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (Pic Heavy)

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (Pic Heavy)

I'm coming in very late on this build but I had to say, this looks terrific. I agree with the above, you are a beast. This is the worst project imaginable if you're a sewaphobe like me. I'm very impressed

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (Pic Heavy)

Hey McLean. Just wondering, with the webbing, how are you managing to get such a straight, consistent line using black puff paint? Do you just have a really steady hand or is there some secret to it? I've been practising with some Dylon black 3-D paint but I just can't get a consistent, slick line.

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (Pic Heavy)

Yeah, the webs are all just done free hand with black puff paint. I hope to do a tutorial of some kind, but it won't be before the movie. Just too much on the plate at the moment.

As far as updates, I'm still working on applying the Honeycomb to the whole suit. Expect some cool pics in the next few days!

Hey guys! I wanted to (finally) share an update! I've been detailing the suit for two weeks now, and every piece is at least 50% done, but each is missing a layer of detail or two, but I've fully detailed my first piece! It's the left arm.

This first pic is taken straight on so that you don't get a reflection and can see the color the paint adds-

Then another pic at an angle so you can see the "shine"

And then OF COURSE I had to pin it up and try it on-

And I've also finished molding my second version frames. They're much smaller and more accurate, and the pic is how they look straight out of the mold. They're a little ripply, but not bad for straight out of the mold.

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 5-20)(Pic Heavy)

Hey everyone! A while back I decided I wanted to tackle the new "Amazing Spiderman" mask and I thought I would post some pics of what I've got so far! I didn't have much of a budget for this project so I knew printing on Lycra was out of the question, so I just decided to go the classic puff-paint route! I started from scratch, realizing that the old Spidey pattern wouldn't work for this mask, since all of the webbing detail is different. Anyway, here are some progress pics, each with a brief description above it. Enjoy!

I started with a quick material test, just to see how difficult this would be. It wasn't too bad, so I decided to press on. (The colors are way too bright here, so I had to change them a bit later on.)

...

Man this is amazing !!
I had 2 questions : is it possible for you to share the pattern of the mask, please ?
And : how did you make the honeycomb relief ? I do not understand your method ^^"

Thanks and keep us updated !! :p
