MattyCollector "Mattel Hoverboard" discussion

Whoever is answering those posts on the Matty site, Toyguru, is a huge nincompoop who sounds like s/he is living on another planet :lol

S/he should at least give the reply that has been given out already to razorsharp, instead of a flat 'No', ie, this :

The way it is being handled at the moment reeks of utter contempt. The person replying should have his mouth (or fingers :lol) zipped shut or be sent to PR 101 school before being allowed to represent Mattel in any way shape or form :rolleyes

:thumbsup

That would be Scott Neitlich, the brand manager. Is the level of anger starting to make more sense now? ;)

If he is the brand manager :eek, then besides PR 101 school, he also needs to go to corporate management 101 school :lol

What is happening at the moment is a classical example of how not to handle something like this :thumbsdown

Unbelievable.

With pitchforks clanging at your door (irrespective of justified or otherwise), one does not open the peep-hole and raspberry at the mob :lol

Yes.
The way they have been handling the situation until now is a slap in the face of the commited people here who showed great effort offering help.

The responses to the board Mattel received in the course of the various exhibitions probably encouraged them to save effort and money to ignore the dedicated people as enough people wouldn`t care and were happy with the "sooooo-not-the-final-model" that was shown to people on site.

But who are we kidding, this is the way huge companies work. I can understand the people who want to cancel to give them a clear sign that they cannot treat the customers any way they want to. However, I will hang on to it, I might take some suggestions that came up here to modify into consideration. Thanks for the info here, let`s hope that the upcoming Air Mags from pickgoodshoes are worth the money :)

At the moment? More like for the past few years.

Everyone except for Mike who should start making his amazing boards again :thumbsup

I would if i could! I just don't have the space to do much of anything anymore :( Gutted to see the NYCC was the final version, it's truly awful, I don't know how they got it so wrong, they had the chance to make an excellent replica, but completely failed :thumbsdown

Really annoying they wont let us cancel now either. The answer's Scott's given on the forum are just like he can't be bothered "everyone thought it was great!" "i'm really proud of it" etc etc. I can honestly say I'll never pre-order anything ever again from Mattel.

Well, with the latest brush off I've received after insisting an answer directly from legal & compliance, I am working to obtain Mattel Legal's contact information.

I will let you guys know what I find out both here and at the Matty board.

Well after asking Scott a load of questions on the forum, then him saying for me to put 1 question per post, which i have done, they've now suspended my account! Great customer service! My posts are still there, no doubt they'll be deleted soon, I've not even asked anything too harsh either! Just valid questions.

Well if Matty wants to get difficult, California law does not allow for a product to be resold if it has been delivered and opened. If I have to take the product, and open it to prove a breach of contract, I can. Further, If I do prove the breach of contract and show I was delivered an item I did not originally agree to, I should be able to recover cost or keep the item.

Given their crappy response, I am willing to do so and give it a go. No matter what, Matty looses in the end. Not to mention the damage already done and still continuing through Toyguru with his lack of any public relation skills.

In any situation, there is a way to make good or bad the situation. With proper management and mediation skills, you can turn a bad situation into one that can be a win win for both sides. This has been so far mismanaged in the worst possible manner from the time of the first prototype to now. Given the current answers on their forum, it only is going to get worse from here.

lmao! I've been banned now too.

All I said was that I forced out something from my arse this morning that was better than their hoverboard and mine actually hovered on water.

i asked if they planned to make a time machine replica so that the guy that signed the boards off could go back in time and make like a tree

whats with the fool saying he doesnt understand any question now lol..one sentence please

they blocked my IP too, luckily i've not got a static IP, so a quick on/off of the router and i've got a new IP :D Signed up again and asked Scott why he banned me instead of answering my valid questions, my new username "Suspended_after_asking_valid_questions" :D

"I can honestly say I'll never pre-order anything ever again from Mattel."

I guess I'll never order anything from Mattel, ever.

another on/off of my router and i can see the forum again...

this response from Scott is funny, to this question: Are you/Matty stating for the record that the product you will be shipping is "Movie Accurate?"

Scott's answer: "As movie accurate as humanly possible!"

I didn't realise i was Super Human for being able to make an accurate replica myself! Even the poor replicas on ebay are better than Mattel's awful effort.

now Scott's come up with a reason why we can't cancel.....

"The reason we can't is because the pre order quota includes the mini HB and we built it to order with the exact quota. We can't legally sell this version day of. This is why pre orders can't be canceled. It is
Technically two different products."

so the excuse is the mini hoverboard! Sod the mini hoverboard!
