Master Chief!

You have a special and interesting way of sculpting. GREAT WORK... Looking forward to se more photos. ;)
Your armor is sweet.. Sharply detaild :) Like it allot.

That 'Flang' idea REALLY works there. This armor is scaled to a 'T' on you. I can't say it enough how great your work has been on this. Really look for ward to more on this. Casting those parts after you assembled them from the pepakura was an ingenious idea. Sharpe, accurate and time well spent.

!!!BUMP!!!

Any more updates or progress on this? I have a few questions for you after reading the forum boards on 405th.

Scaling in Pepakura. I am 5'11" and I have a 7.5" hat size of a head. What do you suggest as the proper scaling number to input?

Are you making any weapons from Pepakura models? How are you doing this with out the paper models collapsing?

I hope things are going well and REAL LIFE isn't distracting you to much.

Mardon,
Once again, congrats on the new build, I'll read this thread with great interest!!!
Your talent amazes me each time I look at your projects...
Keep up the good work!
Al

Hey guys!

First off - I sincerely apologize for dropping out of sight as if I jumped off the edge of the world - hehehehe
Since last Christmas, it became uber busy & some pending projects needed a lot of our attention - and it is only now that we're slowly catching up to this project.

Well, we're now running full gear & starting where we left off. The next offering that we would have is the cod/belt/butt plate.
I took just a single pic today as it was being layed-up with fiberglass.
Kindly check out the last pic in page 5 of the Halo3 photo album:

Update 02/28/08:

Still working on the prototype belt and is proving harder than we thought - had to make a temporary mold for Pep belt, pull a copy and re-work again - to finally re-mold anew.
We felt that it is imperative we work on a more "solid" foundation than rely on the cardboard pep product.

While we're currently adopting the details, alignment of both the front cod & rear butt plate is also considered to possibly fit a variety of wearers.......moreover, adjustability if at all possible is also considered.

Making it in parts/sections may yield a better adoption for various sizes, unfortunately it might also complicate and compromise the section itself - "less is more" would be my design philosophy for this section

.......but even with that philosophy in mind, I'm still pushing for usable side pouches!

Fantastic work on the cheif helmet and suit parts, the attention to detail is great, keep the good work up :thumbsup look forward to seeing the finished suit

Looks great bro! Question, what's your take on how that piece will be able to be 'fitted/adjusted' to various individual sizes? Cut and join?

Again, sweet job bro!

Stay safe,

Tim.

Awesome work as always. I have studied your photos and progress and I have decided to start on my own set of armor. I have a few quesitons for you if I may.

1) I just started some Pepakura armor this past week. It was a fitting helmet for size testing. What file did you use for your armor and what scale did you set your armor at? I know this one is a little specific and you might not remember what you did. However, if you do let me know. :D

2) I don't think you posted this, but what are you using to attach the armor?

3) Under suit, what are you using to conquer this?

4) Any thoughts about boots and which boots to get to attach the armor to?

I know I am tossing a lot at you, but your work shows you are an expert pro. Whatever you can tell me or answer and whenever you can will be much appreciated. Thank you and keep up the good work.
