Hey started a Mass Effect build. Began with the M8. not to thrilled about the results so im going to start again on it but this time use foamies for the detailing instead of engraving it.

Nice work on the M8! That is a great looking weapon for being made out of nothing but foam. I like the detail carved into it. Did you use a knife for the carving or a dremel?

Good start on the helmet as well. Keep up the good work and be sure to check out the new templates for the armor that just showed up in another thread. That should save you a TON of drawing time!

I really like the foam helmet, you don't see that very often. Are you designing it all by hand or are you making digital templates?

WOW this is coming along really well. Are you beveling some of the edges to soften the edges a bit or are you going to keep them crisp?

I just picked up Mass Effect 3 a few days ago. I'm hoping to make a Tali costume next year.

hey guys back with updates, yes i made the helmet templates all by hand. was a pain in the rump. I do plan to keep the edges as they are.
Heres what i got so far
finished with the m8

helmet work. This is attempt 1 and 2 of the dome

heres the dome before doing more heat gun work

detailing on my helmet.. it is somewhat different then in the game vut gets the general idea across which is what really matters to me

here it is plasti dip painted

some paint, still needs weathering and the N7 logo
