Mass Effect 3 trailer!

This is sad. I'm a fan of the series, but I've never played it. I'm a Mac user who's loyal to Nintendo. Yeah, that's quite a closed door, isn't it? I do have a PS3 though so when part 2 comes out next month, I'll snatch myself a copy!

Looking forward to this, I had a grand time playing Lair of the Shadow Broker last weekend.

Holiday 2011? I want my instant gratification now!
:love

Lair of the Shadow Broker and Overlord are two of the best DLCs for and game ever. I think they were better than some of the loyalty missions in the main game.

Hahaha, that was hilarious, Jannix! :lol:lol:lol

I was surprised by how much I liked the interrupts in ME2... Loved being a female Renegade and knocking people off buildings and blasting Conrad Verner in the foot, hehe.

I haven't played the renegade playthrough yet (still need to import him), but I did do one renegade interrupt with the paragon. This was when Emily Wong was trying to misquote Shepard yet again. When the renegade option popped up, oh yes I pulled it. I laughed so hard when Jane Shepard punched little miss Wong right in the kisser. I shouldn't have, but I did. :lol

its so tempting to do a renegade even when you know you shouldn't. I think that's part of why the series is popular, it makes you feel like you're the character because your personality comes out. i'm not a butt kisser so its really tough to suck up to anyone in the games.

Just completed Mass Effect 2 for the PS3... for the second time!

All I can say is, for the love of everything sacred, don't make Earth the primary focus! The planet sucks! It doesn't even spin in the right direction!

I just finished my first playthrough on the PS3 last night (I wanted to try out the interactive comic). I wish they would have put some of the minor characters from ME1 into the comic, like Conrad and the green asari. But, it was a lot better than the default universe. They need to spend a little bit of time polishing the PS3 port... it's a little buggy, but not horrendous. I'm debating whether or not to go with the xbox or the ps3 version for ME3. I might just do both :lol

I've seen a lot of play throughs of Mass Effect, and one area that seems to have been lost in the comic translation is the picture in Shepard's quarters. I seem to remember that whoever you were romancing in the original Mass Effect game was the character you had a portrait of in the Captain's quarters. In the PS3 version, regardless of who you decided to romance in the comic (Me & Liara!) it was now a picture of whoever you left behind to die.

This kind of bugged me because if I ever wanted to break a relationship off, I can't put that framed picture down on it's face.

Also, what is up with Chambers? I tried romancing her and when I bump into Liara, it's played out like she doesn't even know she exists. Do all of Shepard's love interest don't mind that he/she has a friend with benefits? A pity Rebecca isn't treated more seriously because the moment where the two of them hugged on the bridge was sweet.

Who's Rebecca? Chambers is just a possible fling, at least that's what's alluded to when they go to Shepard's quarters for dinner. The devs say that they left it up to you about what happens.

BTW, for PS3 users have you found the bathroom in Shepard's quarters yet? That seems to be the real secret of the whole game. I didn't find it (accidentally) until around my third game. :lol

As for Earth, I think most of ME3 will probably be about going out and trying to find a way to stop the Reapers. I'm guessing you're going to be rallying all your allies (maybe Krogan, Rachni, Quarian Fleet, etc.) to fight the Reapers and stop the attack. I also hope we get to see an Elcor charge at some point. :lol

I hate it when writers and developers resort to that tactic. But if they insist, I would like to think that my Shepard told Chambers that she likes her and respects her as a member of the crew. We would also hear what Chambers thinks of Shepard and why she's so attracted to him/her. Heck, I'd like to believe that they shared the most romantic dinner in all reality that very night.

But you know what kills the "left up to you" tactic? My Shepard didn't get a gawddang Paramour achievement for choosing her.

:angry

I'm really curious to see what ME3 will be like if not everyone survives your playthrough in ME2. I played the paragon route and made all the right choices at the end, so I need to do a runthrough where i don't beef up the Normandy and have most of the crew or everyone die for the save file.

Oh, and I <3 Kinky Kelly.

After talking to Kelly throughout the game it sounds like she isn't real picky as to who she sleeps with. Men, women, aliens, etc. :thumbsup :lol

The game was different enough if I did a playthrough if Wrex had died.
There were differences too depending on what I had done with Fist and a few other people.

ME3 I think will be much more so considering how many more people whose lives you can influence.

What an awesome game, I have never played one where the decisions you made in another change the sequel that much. In the little ways even.

Well there is an easter egg about someone on the ship spreading a vorsha STD. All the comments blamed Kelly :lol I have my evil shep ready to go and i'm redoing the good shep too. that way i'm ready to go when it hits. Anderson kicks serious ass in the novels.

Alright ladies, get your Omni-tools ready. Bioware threw us a bone in the form of a Cast trailer for ME3. Let's enjoy.

Mass Effect 3 Voice Cast

- Martin Sheen as the Illusive Man
Nice to see Martin Sheen return as the Illusive Man. Also nice that Illusive Man is no longer our boss and that we'll get to know just how far he's willing to go to ensure that humanity is the dominate race in the galaxy. My thoughts?
Indoctrination

- Freddie Prince Jr. as James Vega
Ok, ok. I know Freddie is not the best actor in the universe, but I've known plenty of mediocre/bad actors who pull off voice acting like real pros. I'm going to give him a pass till I actually see him in-game. And if you're still worried, just remind yourself that it could have been a lot worse. Vega is NOT modeled after Freddie, and he's not the kind of character Freddie would normally play.

- Seth Green as Joker
Incase you didn't notice, I LOATH JOKER with every fiber of my being. This is the guy who disobeyed orders to abandon ship, got Shepard killed, joined Cerberus with a "Hell yeah!" attitude and still cares more about the ship than any of it's crew. "I'm not losing another Normandy!" I'm about to make roll you, tin can.

- Tricia Helfer as EDI
Tricia Helfer is a mixed bag. She's a very good actress who has a very nice sounding voice. My problem is that she's in everything.... EVERYTHING. Command & Conquer, Mass Effect, Halo, StarCraft (The role that tainted her), Space Marine commercials. Oh, and incase you didn't get the clue in the video...
EDI gets a robotic body who can join Shepard as a squad mate. Tricia Helfer voicing a robot? Get out of town!

- Ali Hillis
Perfect. Moving on.

- Jessica Chobot
Uh. One moment.... Oh, she's a host on ign.com. I don't know. Judging by the fact that the character is modeled after her, and her very unprofessional uniform her character is wearing, it seems that the only thing Bioware got from her resume was that she was ranked 88th most desirable woman of 2008 by AskMen magazine. She's also a reporter, which begs the question why Emily Wong is not present.

- Keith David
Perfect. Moving on.

- Jennifer Hale
Not only is she perfect, but Femshep is getting a lot more recognition than the previous ME games combined. Expect a Femshep specific trailer real soon.

Characters seen but not heard are Admiral Hackett, who will be voiced by Lance Henricksen. If you've played all the Mass Effect games but didn't play the DLC "The Arrival", this will be the first time his character will appear on screen.

So. What do you think? Personally, I think we're screwed. After Dragon Age II, Bioware has been more "conforming" to what gamers seem to like nowadays rather than what it's good for the story itself. Vega looks like a character ripped right out of Gears of War. Liara looks pretty dumb in this trailer when she points her gun at a hologram. This is the kind of writing that came from the much appalling season one of ST:TNG. You know, the one where characters would point their phasers at the viewer when the bad guy appeared on screen.

And I'm sorry to bring this up again, but this marks the third time that a trilogy of scifi games has put Earth in catastrophic danger for it's third installment. First was Halo, second was Gears of War, and now it's happening in Mass Effect. When you go from the first Mass Effect game that had a galaxy wide threat to just rescuing our planet from the Reapers, the epic scale goes down quite a bit. Sure, the characters will no doubt say the whole galaxy is in danger, but how else are we supposed to take that seriously when we're treating Earth like the center of the universe? I'm just tired of Earth being in danger all the gawd dang time. I want to save the Assari, the Quanari, the Tourians, the Krogan. Heck, even the Batarians! Screw Earth. We've already got Earth like planets in Mass Effect, complete with Earth relics like the statue of liberty. I think we can afford to blow it up complete with all the Reapers.
