Marvel sued over Avenger's BluRay Case

I agree, I watched the IGN unboxing video and it was horrible (the video not the product) they guy reviewing it was just tossing things everywhere. I got my shipping notice, again for april 2nd (tommorow!)

I'm debating on whether to purchase it. I like the case (a lot), but I'm not sure if I really need another copy of all the movies... :facepalm The paper props seem to look really nice... but I'm not sure if I want to drop ~$150 on the set.

I would say if you do already own the movies, probably not worth it, if you are interested in the paper props im sure you could replicate them for significantly less then $150, However if you do not own any of the movies, i feel its a good deal.

Anybody interested in a Set of Marvel BluRays? got some in 3D (cap, thor, avengers)! Gotta recoup the costs somehow!

I probably wouldn't have minded if the FYE 2 blocks from my house didn't just recently close down. I could have sold my previous blu-rays back to them to offset the cost of the set. :cry

Yeah, it's somewhat annoying, having purchased the others, but who knew the collected piece would be such an interesting product.

I guess the only one that really bothers me is the Avengers, since I had this on order back then, then it was cancelled so I bought the 3D bluray not knowing this would ever see the light of day.

My case just arrived from Amazon. I think anyone who gets it will be very pleased. There are a TON of paper props in it. The case is smaller than a full-sized briefcase, but still pretty impressive for a movie release. The dimensions on it are about 12 x 10 x 4.5

Jealous as hell! Mine still says 'Shipping soon'. And I'm in the UK so will take 2-4 days. I'm so impatient! Lol. And I'll need to rip the dvds to R2 before watching. I'm Off on weds/thurs days so was hoping it would arrive for then but doubtful now :(

Looks cool. my tracking info says it will be here tommorow. What is the quality of the paper props?

Surprisingly decent quality. They use different stocks for the various items. There are some business cards, a brochure from the 64 Stark Expo (or is it 68?), a scaled down version of Tony's Mk 1 plans on multiple sheets, Thor's medical bracelet from the hospital, a cocktail napkin, Steve Rogers' medical form and monkey sketch, a full-sized sticker label for the soft drink Banner's blood gets into, plus more. It's just a bunch of neat stuff. They're probably not all screen accurate in terms of scale or materials, but it's a great instant collection. And I have to admit, the box looks pretty cool.

My son is headed down to Florida with his high school band to play at Disney all week and needed some extra money so I cancelled my order at the last second and gave him the funds. Really was looking forward to this one, so post those pics, at least I get to see here what I am missing out on.

Yeah, I'd love to see some pics from those who have already received theirs. Mine won't be here until tomorrow.

Here are some of the extras. Probably not the coolest ones, but some of what I shared with some friends earlier:

There are folders with various paper props for Cap, Thor, Banner, and Stark. Then a Shield folder that talks about the cube, The New York Attack, and has dossiers for Black Widow and Hawkeye.

There's also a cool little SHIELD access card that you use to access the special look at IM 3 and the other Phase 2 films. There's some new footage there from IM 3 and Thor 2, as well as a couple animatics and brief concept art for Winter Soldier from Cap 2. They show some concept art for GotG, and a couple clips of the test footage for Ant-Man, and then just briefly touch on Avengers 2.

The design or the content?

Maybe both. The case is smaller than I was expecting. The discs are in paper sleeves too.

These site videos are rarely good. The guy wasn't even prepared tossing stuff around. I guess they just got an early promo case and put it up for views.

What's the size of the Iron Man Arc Reactor blueprint and the quality? That's what I want the most.

The arc reactor blueprint is about 21" long by about 14" tall. I'd say it's display quality, but I don't really have a point of reference. Everything in this set is of surprising quality. It's evident that some care was put into this release.

And after seeing that IGN unboxing, I wish he'd shown some of that same care. Good god did he manhandle that thing! I shuddered every time I heard files hitting the floor.

Eh... thought about grabbing it but after watching the unboxing on ign and reading some of the reviews on amazon, not gonna worry about it.

Between the lack of special features on IM/IM2 and the cheap white cube, I just can't see spending 150$ on it.

I have to admit, the paper props ALMOST are enough to get me grabbing it, but not quite enough to tip me over the edge.

I did like the cave drawings of the MK1 though. That was pretty badass and unexpected.
