Mannaquin questions

So, I've got 4 character heads. a Han solo and Ben kenobi by Howard senft. They have a slight shoulder to them and the I have a Leia and Luke heads I got from Howard back in 06 but he didn't know who made them. Since I don't have the room for full size statues, I figured I could do life size busts, copy the Gentle giant busts as much as possible.

so, where is the best place to get Mannequins? 10 years ago, I went out of town and bought one down in Kc for my Boba fett armor(less said about it the better).

I've done some searches on ebay, but was wondering is there someone the experts here on the boards use?

Is it possible to mix and match arms?

would it just be easier to modify arms with PVC tubing?

Your thoughts?

I have purchased a mannequin off of EBAY from HD Mannequin Supply also known as Charlie6515. I used this for a Logan's Run Sandman costume display which you can see under my RPF sign-on as Sandman 5. I would imagine if you contacted the above individual via EBAY he would be able to tell you which models in his line have interchangeable arms, etc. I basically looked for mannequins that I thought were similiar to my own height/build. I was fortunate to find one that would work. I didn't have to do any modifications. His products come neatly packaged with the base and support rod. Although the products are imported I was pleased with the quality.

If you are willing spend some time, you could always make a ducttape dummy of your body and then cast the pieces seperate to each other and then put them together in whatever pose you choose. I am looking at doing this since it is so hard to find a Mannaquin that is of a similar build for my Sandtrooper Armour.

I would check local areas and ebay . I was a visual Manager for my local Bass Pro Shop and they are pricey. you can get good deals if you shop around and stay away from major dealers . Honestly the best thing to do would be to buy one and vaccum form the rest.

I read the thread title and for a second thought someone was making a costume from the movie Mannaquin:lol
