Mandalorian Season 3

Something I am wondering recently, how old exactly s Bo Katan supposed to be? I guess it is as old/young as the writers need her to be, but considering she was at least a teen at the time of the Clone Wars she has to be quite old by this point, or at least older than she is being portrayed?

Like Old Ben old? I mean Boba Fett grew from kid to adult in that time, but I guess clone's can age faster

I am a bit fuzzy on the timeframe of things
I’ve posted this question as well. But the math may work. The Clone Wars lasted for four years.

Anakin became Vader at the end of the war. Luke and Leia were born. They were 19 in ANH.

It was about three to four years between ANH and TROTJ.

Mandalorian takes place five years after TROTJ.

That would have been twenty eight or twenty nine years.
About three years have passed in the timeline since it began. Let’s say thirty two years have passed.

Saying that she was maybe sixteen in TCW, that would make her around fifty or fifty one years old.

Katie is close to that age herself I believe. But wearing a Mando bucket all the time caused humidity under the helmet which is a great moisturizer and helps keep the skin young looking.

The last time we saw Bo Katan was in The Clone Wars when she and Ahsoka take back Mandalore just before the fall of the Republic and just before Order 66.

If Bo Katan was 18yo just before Order 66, she would be 38yo during ANH and The Mandalorian takes place 5 years after ROTJ or 9 years after ANH making Bo 47 years old.
Yours came up while I was typing.

For some reason I thought there was at least 40 some years between Cone Wars and Mando and she was older than a teen at the time, but checks out I guess

Again, I haven't watched anything. But just a a few cents.

TCW and Rebels gave the Mandalorians ridiculous flight times with their jet packs. Maybe it's because I've played too much Battlefront. But I've always liked the idea they have to kind recharge or cool down. So they aren't capable of near infinite flight times. Obviously you have to fudge the fuel amounts. Because realistically you'll only have enough fuel to fly for a couple of minutes. But having the jet pack usable in short bursts, makes it more "realistic." See the all time classic Rocketeer.

Also the idea that Gideon's suit is some sort of Dark Trooper armor......
These were supposed to be your third generation Dark Troopers.

In the EU these behemoths were the phase 3 Dark Trooper, and could be worn as armor.

Exactly! If he was wearing something like that, I wouldn't question him throwing Din around or crushing the Darksaber. We were given no information on why his new suit was any different than regular Beskar armor. It's like no one making SW right now can go the extra mile and do the thing that would be cool and make sense.

Based on a rumor/speculation I heard…… that the reason Gideon didn’t have his mustache in the last 2 episodes is because the Gideon we saw die was actually a clone and not the real Gideon…. He had better be dead. DEAD. No clone, no Bacta tank, DEAD. While I’ve enjoyed Gideon as the big-bad for 3 seasons I feel his arc is done and I’m ready to move on to new adventures.

I was pretty sure that the extremely loud sound of the servos every time he moved made it clear that it was a mechanically augmented suit.
I think the confusing part is that it just looks like beskar armor painted gloss black with maybe only biceps armor added.

Is the power suit in the Vader looking undersuit?

No doubt it looks really really cool , but adding sounds to it to insinuate a power suit with no explanation is a head scratcher for sure.

Fun episode and i liked it a lot more than i was expecting. The tied up story but still open to more and no cliffhanger is oddly satisfying .

Did no one hear the monologue from the previous episode. “I have created the next generation Dark Trooper suit forged from beskar alloy. And the most impressive improvement is that it has me in it.” I understand that visually it could do more to convey, but as far as explaining it. It’s obvious to me.

Agreed. But knowing Disney...

This season was so meh from the writing, pacing and action choreography, but man I love Din's new blasters he picked up from the super commandos. He even had them tucked in his belt at the end on Navarro so seems like they will be his new blasters.

Blaster bolt absorbing Beskar armor for bounty hunters and Cobra Commander Gideon… ABS plastic armor for Stormtroopers.

I still scratch my head at what purpose Stormtrooper armor serves (even in-universe) as a wooden club disintegrates it and it behaves very much like the plastic that it appears to be.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but can we talk about that awful stunt helmet that Mando wears? His helmet has a very distinct look, and is part of his overall persona. That stunt helmet they had him wear in many of the scenes in the final episode totally threw off his look. Kinda took me out of it.

EDIT:

I know that SW has always had Hero and Stunt versions of things. But this is like giving Clint Eastwood a different hat and thinking people wouldn't notice.

I never noticed the stunt helmet, but did anyone else notice the loose visor in the scene right after Grogu rescues Mando?

”If we don’t take out Moff Gideon this will never end”

In the Original Trilogy, you could imagine the armor, while not making the Stormtroopers invincible. You could imagine that they at least aren't being killed. It's dissipating the energy just enough. They probably are still burned, and bruised, maybe even some broken bones. But they aren't dead.

I heard it and understood it yes.
