Mandalorian Season 3

There’s speculation that Mando will have his mind wiped, end with a cliff-hanger

J
Soooo many rumors amd speculation flying: Armorer is a traitor/spy, Darksaber will be destroyed , Rook Kast, mind wipes, someone dies , I am Boba Fett shows up to help, mythosaur and on and on….

As lackluster as this season has been I am blown away at how excited I am to see the conclusion and potential/probable cliffhanger

Maybe Din should get out of this on his own. He's supposed to be a bad azz, he's becoming just another chump getting rescued and not even the star of his own show.

OH...
An evil villian that talks and talks about his plans in detail to the captured good guys rather than just kill them right then and there and be done with it. That's new huh?

Finally watched most of the episodes and awaiting the grand finale. It was cool to actually see Mandalorians fighting in few episodes. I sort of hope Gideon dies.

Personally, it didn't have the same kind of vibe as felt in the finales of seasons 1 and 2 - no shocking or emotional moments but it did a good enough job capping off the threads of what has been a rather meandering series. Not really sure where they can go from here, perhaps back to a more episodic season given the setup they gave. Thoughts below:

It all felt a bit similar to the season 2 episode where the break into the Imperial base on Nevarro, and the season 2 finale where they board Gideon's cruiser. Lots of running/sneaking through base corridors.

The aerial battle was kinda cool though, just perhaps could have been a little more focused (especially given that it was kind of pointless as they had to get out of there).

I did enjoy the part where Din had to take on the commandos two at a time through those completely non-sensical shields (just like in the Theed generator complex). It really reminded me of the 'gauntlet' challenge in Gladiators, complete with pugel sticks!

I liked how Gideon had accelerated the growth of his clones so that they were just as old as he was before letting them out of the tanks. I assume this was only really necessary so that the audience would recognise who it was inside (rather than some random child) but still pretty funny.

The Praetorian guards went out like chumps. If only Paz had kept a spare blaster down his boot...

And finally it was amusing to see all those comments about the Armorer or Axe Woves lead to absolutely nothing. In fact if you think about it, Axe was the hero riding the metaphorical Mythosaur (painted on the bottom of the ship) into battle to save the day! I mean he killed Moff Gideon when Din and Bo couldn't!

I like how Din now has a little shack out in the middle of nowwhere, complete with pond for Grogu.

They don't need a season 4, it should end here until the mega movie. The story of Mandalore won't even be interesting for a very long time. Not until a few hundred years go by and they have some towns and cities rebuilt. Then it could be samurai western planet.

People are really stirring up the rumor that someone “must die” in the finale. Maybe Grogu will give his life to save Din…Or they kill off Din to pave the way for a Bo Katan centric fourth season. At this point, I don’t feel emotionally invested enough to mind who dies or what happens.

Maybe they use the bran scrambler ray on Grogu and Lizzo saves him at the last second by not killing what they love, but saving what they don’t hate, or whatever Rose says.
I read an article saying Din is Not the Mandalorian and therefore dispensable.
Grogu was muted as..

( Fraggles Rock music playing inside my head)

Maybe Din should get out of this on his own. He's supposed to be a bad azz, he's becoming just another chump getting rescued and not even the star of his own show.

I think Din has already.. Renamed himself Joel, takes no prisoners
no sh**t
And shoots to kill before his enemies get a chance to open their pie holes...

Considering the Westerns of old influence the wordyness of all these villains gets a little tiresome..

I agree, that could have just as easily been the series finale, as all good stories have an end. It seem a little “standard,” if that make sense. I didn’t see anything I was surprised by, and it seems everyone could effectively live happy ever after.

The entire spies subplot was gone, and no double crosses either. The Pershing subplot didn’t play into anything bigger. It seems like wasted time in hindsight!

I’d give this season a 6.5/10.

I loved it! It was pure fun. :)

The mouse droid patrol made my day. I was rofling so hard when poor R5 was surrounded. I'm waiting for the first memes capturing that. In fact, it could be a cool idea to see what an ordinary day in the life of a Mouse droid is like.

The battle got right into the animated (The Clone Wars) area but I enjoyed it. There was some nice dishing out from the Armorer. :) Gideon became true cartoon villain. I was not too keen on the cloning idea, however, this opens a backdoor to bring Gideon back easily: Was it the real Gideon who was engulfed in the flames or just a clone who thought to be the real one or did Gideon get away in his armour? Maybe he will return in a Vader-like suit later.

The green garden was a really nice touch. I didn't expect to see so much colour.

The climax (when they were inside the Force bubble), especially the music, brought me to tears (I agree, it was not as spectacular as Luke showing up - I don't think that can ever be topped, even though the moment came much too early in the show, ah well).

BUT this was a spectacular scene. One of the most iconic scenes of the entire show. Absolutely fantastic.

Din's new home looks so nice and peaceful, hopefully he is so smart and invites the lady and her daughter from Chapter 4 soon.

Hasbro did a good job by releasing the R5 BAD figure because it is able to hold the booster rockets that came with the BAD R2. Well done.

BUT:

I don't know if someone did NOT get it but we have another guest appearance in the bar, and this time he is wearing his signature item! HASBRO, LISTEN! This is the time to give us a PROPER figure of that character, with hat and belly and all! IMMEDIATE BUY!!!

Agree on pretty much every point.

Felt like a 'Return to Zero' scenario where every single lingering point has been neatly wrapped up, but still, in a weird way, left completely open for more story.

That would be my POV as well if this truly was a series finale. However we know it's not. So there's no reason not to think that these plot threads won't be picked up in future seasons or shows.

I enjoyed the episode. I think that whole spies subplots about who was a spy and who was not was all fan written. Certainly they could have tried to throw in a twist, but frankly I'm really happy they didn't.

The Pershing subplot was never about Pershing. It was about Kane, and I think the opening scene of Spies was meant to be a payoff of sorts for that, but she could play a significant role in season 4.
