Man of Steel (Pre-release)

Have you seen the movie yet?

If not how about you form your own opinion and not just what reviewers are saying.

And for those that say its a "Nolan movie" couldn't be more wrong. At no point did I feel like I was watching some dark grim gritty superman.

You should read my posts - I saw this movie when you were standing in line for Oz the great and powerful - then saw it complete about 6 weeks ago - and it's a Nolan film.

Hell, I knew in the comics who Clark Kent was...He wore glasses.
I've read 2 reviews of the movie, and now, unfortunately, I know that
- "Superman" is never said
- Lois knows that Clark is Kal-El
- Metropolis is not referred to by name
- Krypton is destroyed (as if there was any doubt, but still)
I have never read a review with so many outright spoilers, minor though they may be, that I hadn't been warned about. Read reviews at your own risk, guys and gals.

Have to disagree, along with about 90% of the reviews on this. I still want to see it but I know that we are dealing with another reluctant super hero. Dark, gritty, grim, Nolany...

I didn't see him as reluctant, I don't want to get spoilery but he does super things long before putting on the suit. To me that's not reluctant at all.

And you were flat out wrong about that. Your opinion is NOT fact. Remember when we had that little talk about you being douchy? This is one of those times, Jet. :)

You need to keep from the name calling buddy - and I'm sorry to say - count the people in the multitude of Trek threads who liked the movie and who those who didn't. I must say - you stand almost alone in blind obedience to that crapfest. And seeing how I Know you haven't seen MOS and I have - go somewhere else and play.

FACT

I did count them, they ran about 3 to 2 in favor and despite your efforts to discredit fan reaction via Rotten Tomatoes, show me another aggregate of audience opinion that tells a different story. And you the FACT you take such joy crapping all over things other people take enjoyment from makes you a troll. FACT.

More fun FACTS! I wonder which team I would hire to make my next film? hmmmmm. FACT

I do find it an extraordinarily bad decision as a screenwriter who would ant people to see his films why you wold present yourself this way in an online forum community. Seems shortsighted in the extreme.

But I have and I feel that your factpinion is wrong. But that's just my opinion.

All busting of Jet's chops aside, that really is the point. Seeing a movie and not liking it is someones prerogative. Trying to tell everyone else that they won't like it either is absurd. Trying to force that opinion on others is just obnoxious. No, I haven't seen it but I am planning to. I am not a huge comic book fan but loved the origina Superman film. In fact, Jet you might appreciate this little name drop, but I went to grade school with the twin sons of Fay Vincent who was at the time of Superman's release the CEO of Columbia Pictures. Me and my friends were 11 in 1979 and Mr. Vincent arranged a private screening of Superman in the Columbia Pictures office in New York on for the twins birthday. It was great fun.

I've never "anted" anyone to see my films - I've gots my money.

And you just looooove Rotten Tomatoes - it's the only thing you cite when speaking quality - I've tried to teach you why those numbers mean less than the bandwidth that carries them. But you have proven my friend to close your eyes to enlightenment - FACT.

I'm watching a Clockwork Orange right now - some company wants to remake it - what do you think about that?

Wow - I had sex with Marisol Nichols -- my favorite FACT

I had to look her up, but nice! :)

And I am a huge fan of Clockwork Orange. Keeping with the Columbia Pictures thing, the Vincent's has a ton of Beta and VHS tapes of films at their home and we used to watch Clockwork Orange all the time. And Silver Streak....and Used Cars.

By the way I have no doubt the studios will try and effect the results on RT, but taking critical and audience reaction into consideration, the amount of Delta (change) they can actually influence is somewhat marginal.

How old were you watching Clockwork??!

Haven't you ever heard the stories of studios and actors buying millions of tickets to alter intake - those are FACT.

RT is like Aintitcool - nothing but a studio tool. Most of the reviewers are simply Bloggers - not connected to any credible publications or qualified to dissect story - they're last post probably had to do with how they threw a birthday party for their dog who can say "I love you".

well RT is the only site that has the most complete collection of critic reviews.
doesnt really count as a "favorite" if its the only game in town with the largest collection of critic opinions.

but since RT leaves a bad taste in your mouth we can also look at movie fan websites- IMDB has Trek at an 8.2 rating.

and if movie fan sites leave a bad taste in your mouth maybe we can look at its box office numbers- $379 mill.

so, we have the majority of critics saying its good, the avalerage movie goer saying its good, and the box office numbers saying its good....exactly what demographic is left to say its bad?

a few guys on a movie prop site?

I also feel that since you don't care for anything Nolan, your take on MOS may be skewed. I liked TDK universe, I didn't mind STID as a popcorn flick. You sir, simply hate anything that ventures from what we have seen and isn't you idea of what Superman is to you.
