M56 Smartgun Headset (CRT based)

Currently looking for someone who can code a simple HUD overlay with a slight animation for use with a 1/2 inch crt viewfinder

Im unclear what is compatible or what runs best for something like this but it does support composite and up to 240/360 resolutions and has a fairly high framerate for a small tube (will need recommendations on what to use as in the past ive only used a Raspberry Pi 3 but that was over 3-5 years ago)

There are 2 triangle like tick marks (cyan) that move to the left and right indicating where the centerpoint (or North point) is (unclear of its design but thats the gyst of it) will need to be in this area for coverage (red)

Will need to have fairly high framerate as its camera will be mounted on the front of a BFONG MG42 and low fps i feel would cause disorientation and possibly nausea (roughly 24-40fps should do 60fps would be perfect but im not sure how it would run with what is used)

This build is in conjunction with the build here but i would like to keep programming and building separate for now (also forgive the language but the only real chance to get these reference photos come from in game captures)

I contacted him already but i think this might be a little too much for him (ive already commissioned him for parts on the smartgun and armor) but i have seen a few trackers made by him but thats some programs with triggers

This is a camera with a programmed overlay with some animation triggered by rotation sensors

Yes while the colonial marines has more features i cant really understand why the vision is obstructed with as much unnecessary information and the reticle from ACM seems to have too many features for a actual targeting system unlike the avp 2010 game

Everything needed to know for a firearm is:

Ammunition, precision, and direction

Which the AVP version handles very well with the ammo counter on the smartgun, and precision/directional targeting in the headset

The ACM version (while still ok) seems to have the following:

Ammunition counter, distance/elevation metering, barrel temp monitor, code lines, battery life indicator, and identification tags for the user

All of which may seem decent in theory would be a overload of information for a ground soldier (aviation would work better for this)

That being said im going for something simplistic and easy rather than something like this previous task of sourcing a real ww2 issue MG42 for use in this project

True. Although it is that 200 year later corporate run universe and not our current time. I think if you compare an infantry soldier from the American Revolution to one today they would be baffled at the complexity of the weapon systems.

Same for us with 2179.

It’s believable that the M56 HUD would contain information that would baffle our soldiers. I don’t know but: weapon/barrel temperature makes sense, target mass makes sense kind of in how many rounds need to be directed to it. Distance, elevation and targeting accuracy makes sense. The code is probably something soldiers from that time understand, I don’t know, order hierarchies, targeting network sources, battle overview systems, who knows.

Also I believe the screenshot above shows the M56 HUD and the game hud combined. The game HUD would need to be ignored.

sor matrix, including motion trackers, infrared scanners, lidar, radar and robot
sentries. It is also possible to datalink the Fire Control unit into higher level
assets such as surveillance drones or artillery Forward Observers.”

It’s some kind of sensor fusion data.

K so ive pretty much got all the peices down for the smartgun headset but im a little stumped by this peice at the base of the headset

It seems to be a plastic T junction but im unable to match it anywhere does anyone happen to have a good match for it?

I could always make due with a casting but using real parts really just makes it more fitting
