Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber

Wow! Thank you for this, I had a feeling.

For the newbies out there, I get so many questions, the Otis boards are not screen accurate, they weren’t used in any SW film.

Even closer I’ve found Clare relays and the metal was REALLY high temp solder, I tried to reshape the tinning a little and failed. Those are industrial as far as I know.
I had no idea the Otis board idea had changed so much. I've been away too long lol

Found Cincinnati Milacron boards that have gold leads. Could be getting warmer

Edit- Looking back a page these have been mentioned, D'OH

Yeah, it’s not helped by the current market, people aren’t being completely honest when marketing things. I’ll say it again publicly, I was the one who imported the first boards from Israel for research and at the time they were the closest thing we could find but not an exact match. We’ve since gotten closer with other boards and still don’t have a product ID for the real prop. The V2 or the Bespin Graflex.

Trace spacing is a huge deal, I’ve found so many boards that are close to the V2 but just don’t have the matching solder trace patterns, which are like Bryan said due to the manufacturing choices and the components on the board

43 years ago today, San Rafael California. In the early morning, on the ILM sound stage.

A man climbs the scaffolding. Hanging over the top he hears the yell “action”. The man then drops the silver cylinder down into the hands of the actor..

This scene has forever sealed my passion… my addiction… my life…

May 10th, I’ll remember this.

I noticed mark catches it with the clamp box in his palm on camera. Ouch.
There’s a few photos of him catching it, different angles, different attempts. I wish I knew how many official times they tried

Makes sense, the famous photo you posted is different from the actual screen take, right near his head
