Question is.. has anyone built one? Any one have interest in building one? What would it take? How close to functioning could we get it?

.

I had started a thread on the countdown clock a long time ago, it didn't really do anywhere. :(

I'd love to see a replica made.

I have the font used for the hyeroglyphs (sp?)...
I've try to find some info to do the "tech" part of it (the mechanical part of the clock) to make a functional one, but it was too hard to do (well, at least for me:p )
Find the dimensions and do the "box" is quite easy but the "clock" it's another story...:(

The mechanism doesn't look too bad: a little CAD, a laser cutter, some trial and error...:confused
Best approach would probably be to buy a cheap flip clock and scale/modify the parts from that.
How large is the Swan Station clock?

Edit: Hmmm, in order for the heiroglyphs to lock in at one second intervals you'd have to use five separate stepper motors.
Hehe, I can already see the costs of a working clock spiralling out of control. :)
