You go away for a while and come back to new suppliers, new members, new finds and some brilliant new jackets... man I love this thread.
They say that nothings certain in this life except for death and taxes... and id have to agree as both have been regular visitors to my life these past few months. due to this my jacket got boxed up and put away for a while... but now I'm back!
Between contrado and online finds I have enough to get back to work on not one but two jackets (one hero, one stunt). I'm just after an accurate leopard and of course real versions of those elusive ladies. With that in mind I'm aiming to have one whole Marko replica outfit complete before Halloween this year (and maybe a stunt jacket as well depending on life) It'll be tough with whats going on right now but I need the distraction.
Its amazing to see the wall of fame growing too, massive inspiration to get my British backside on there...

This is a Californian Sportswear but the labels are ripped out but it can be verified with the stud rivets, the rear and also the red lining which has a centre diamond pattern. Dwaynes jacket has always been my favourite of the group, just that Markos takes the longest and most research to complete but I found this baby! Its not 100% as there is no button/stud on the second collar, the center rivets are more spaced outwards rather than aligned, missing belt buckle and maybe the rear buttons need to be moved by an inch inwards (though its hard to confirm) but its the closest I've seen is many, many years. There are a range of Californians with lots of variations, the closest I've seen was Brandons (thanks for your prior history on this jacket!) but it had no front pocket but everything else was correct. As there was no tags it was labeled as 1930s jacket, not sure if it that period but Dwaynes hero jacket does show signs of aging and I recall an interview with him saying he went into the stores to find the leather jacket that would fit his role, and for sure I can see why! These aren't cheap either, majority are 500-1000. From what the listing says its a medium-large which is about Billys size, if he comes back to the UK I'll see if he can try it on my only concern now is painting the leopard on it, yikes!
Scored another Cleo, you can see from the one I found and the latest that the colour is much better, finally! The ones I somehow find always are faded but at long last

I messaged Popcoulturecrafts about re-doing theirs. PCC patch is too big and is about 1/2"- 3/4" too tall and the helmet has a lot of things wrong with it. I haven't heard back from them yet, but will attempt to contact them again soon. If I don't hear back from them after reaching out a 2nd time I will see about SweetlySynnD or someone else making it. I have some good images to go by now so that helps. I'm going to get us a better version, but it will take a little while.

Absolutely ridiculous asking price, but they are taking offers. I don't get where people get these prices. I've never seen anyone pay more than around $150 topps. Average price is $50-100. If someone is interested, maybe offer them $100, but I wouldn't pay more than $150 because another one will come along sooner or later. They always do.

There's a chariot lady up on ebay 1350 canadian dollars. They dont ship to the UK and again the price is above what id want to pay. However I've just seen one on facebook that was sold in Jan in a local swap and sell type page for 50 Usd pick up only. tempted to ask the seller who bought it and see if they're willing to sell.
As for the leopard... that will come. Patience is the name of this game.

It's criminal chopping up that tapestry for two little pieces.
I didn't feel quite as bad about chopping up mine because it was missing part of it anyway. Fortunately not the parts I needed.I did feel bad about cutting up my Cleo tapestry though, it was brand new in mint condition still in the original bag. I felt sick cutting it up

I don't know what nit-wit is paying that but they must have more money than brains. I could see paying like $400 or somewhere around there, but honestly the repros made with the Chi-Chi Furnishings Velour are very close. The main disadvantage with the repros is the colors aren't as bold and vivid as the originals that are silk screened on cotton.
Besides, most of the original patches are nearly impossible to find anyway and most people will have to also settle for the repro patches so what does it matter if the ladies are repros too.
The only thing that can't be reproduced correctly is the peacock, leopard, and matador tapestries those have to be original because of how they're made.
Also there's only two people to even come close to having a nearly all original jacket and that's bdude93 and Rusty85. Both guys were extremely lucky finding their stuff, and both spent a hefty sum to achieve perfection. It's not to say it can't be done, but the likelihood of achieving what they accomplished is very slim. I'd say Rusty85 is currently the winner and the highmark to beat.
