I'm in the very early process of starting this jacket. It's hard to find hero tapestries. Do you guys think just getting some rug printed with all the needed designs would work? Lol I want it to look nice but also not be too costly.
Best pictures I've ever seen of this jacket hands down. Great job LostNSantaCarlaI got some cool close-ups of Paul's jacket for anyone who might be interested in the nitty-gritty details. This is the one he wore for the bathtub scene and I'm pretty sure the one he wore in the still-shot pictures.
Nobody is doing that unfortunately. The amount of time that goes into it makes it not a profitable job. There's a few people here that own replicas they have made and might consider selling them, but I just want to warn you it may be in the thousands for a accurate replica. The materials alone are around $600-700 and that's using replica pieces. Then finding the three main tapestries takes months, and sometimes years. Then sewing the jacket is another 40+ hours. Be very careful if someone is offering you one, they are very rare, and very expensive for a good one.Hey all. I've been recently looking into Marko's jacket, I am not artistic, I was wondering potentially how much a commission would be for a jacket. Thanks in advance!
I was kind of cautious of this as well. I was seeing where previous sources on here had materials even at $500 dollars. Do you think its possible for a complete novice to attempt this? I wouldn't care to purchase from someone either but my intent is to wear so it would also have to fit me which may be a tall task. Thank you for responding! I saw someone on ETSY selling a set of 23 patches to get started. Would that be a good starting point or could you maybe message me a blueprint of the steps to follow? Yep, the lady on etsy's name is Sonya she's very nice. Her patches are pretty decent, you can actually find about 6+ of the actual real ones on etsy and ebay so you can have some real ones mixed in with the reproductions. Personally I'd try and find as many real ones first and then fill in the rest with the reproductions. There's a peacock on ebay right now that has a grey neck instead of the correct blue, but other than that it's pretty good. I'd start by collecting the three main tapestries and start collecting as many real patches as you can. To answer your question, yes you absolutely can do this project but your gonna spend at least $600 and probably a year+ putting everything together. Most of the information your looking for is on page 41 of this post. That's awesome! Yeah I was always a fan of the Lost Boys, but I hadn't watched it in probably 10 years. I saw it on 4k the other day and decided to buy it. Well after watching it I started going on YouTube and looking up videos about it and that is what caused me to notice the jacket when I saw them being bought from the movie. Long story short it led me here to start hunting down Marko's jacket.I posted previously that I was making a movie accurate Lost Boys Paul coat. I was fortunate enough to aquire several sets of the correct pulls and also located the correct clips.
Sean Clark the famous Podcaster/ YouTuber/ Movie Producer recently purchased the complete set of Lost Boys "movie used" jackets from The Prop Store. The Paul coat was missing most of the pieces and I had the honor of helping him replace some of the pieces. The correct pulls seem rather hard to find due to their age. I have one last set left if anyone wants it message me.View attachment 1722096View attachment 1722097View attachment 1722098View attachment 1722099

All so which parts would you recommend starting to sew first.so complicatedThank you so much
Find the correct three tapestries: leopard, matador, peacock. Look at ebay, etsy, poshmark, Facebook marketplace. All the information is posted here already. Start from the end and read backwards. All the newest information is at the end. If you ask questions that have already been answered and posted many times, you're probably not going to get a response from people. Read, it's all here laid out for you. Literally! There's a peacock with a red background on ebay right now. The neck and head appears to be grey instead of the correct blue, but at least the sky is the correct red.
