What fabric did you choose to print your tapestries from contrado?
Does anyone have any good pictures of the "join the professionals" and the "viking" patch? And the strip of leopards from the "Cleo" tapestry...
I got the 100% cotton satin, it looks pretty good but the rear as its much bigger it doesn't have the same feel or look as the original tapestries
I actually just scored another Join the professionals, looks like this:

But here are some originals, the JTP is different, I believe the circle white version is more accurate.

just also scored 2 original Repent patches, its very similar to the one i had drawn

The arm "motorcycle skull" patch measurements in the drawing have the top to bottom measurement 200mm. Using the vintage "#13 skull" patch which measures 76.2 mm (3") for reference in the pictures I concluded that the motorcycle skull patch was roughly 254mm (10"). Do we have a definitive measurement or or it personal preference?
Is this thread actually still going? I noticed posts from all the way back in 2014.
Anyways, I just took up replicating Marko's jacket and I already want to pull my hair out!
So far I've found one of the tapestries, patches, and the squid skirt lures. But beyond that, these tapestries are kicking me in the back side. Especially the matador one. . . I keep finding them flipped in the wrong direction. Luckily the peacock one works no matter what direction it's flipped, since I can maneuver the feathers in the right direction regardless of the overall position.
Luckily I have until 2021 before the jacket has to be done. But any tips for keeping sanity? Much less any tips on what to search when spending hours on ebay?
I did see some of the stuff Charlie has been posting over the past few years. So I felt this might be my best place to get some advice.
I just noticed that upon closer inspection of the jacket. I was so fixated on the feathers that the rest of it slipped my mind. Of course I would buy the wrong one to start with. That's a bit upsetting since it wasn't cheap. Oh well. Live and learn. As for the timeline to get it all together; con isn't until next year. So I atleast have that going for me.I actually printed them out on paper then glued it to spare fabric to get the feel for size before i got the patches made locally. Its quite hard to pull measurements off other peoples jackets due to size and such so I just guestimated mine, it seems to do pretty well. Since im a big guy if I got the patches made to the correct size it would look a little smaller.
The only real measurement you get is off vintage circular patches which are normally 80mm.
My advise would be to wait for the tapestries to appear, you can get the matador versions pretty easy but the cheetah / peacock are slightly more rare. The peacock must be red and to the right facing the left (opposite of the one you have now). This jacket isn't an over night creation, its many many many months of prep and depends how far you are willing to invest for example patches being made the correct way etc.

While I don't have this one, I'm also on the hunt for it. I've seen it reversed with the proper colors, though.Ok, Long Shot, but does anyone have the Right Handed Peacock? I've misplaced mine and can't find it....
I've got the reversed one currently. I have the correct one... somewhere... I moved last fall and I don't know where I put it...While I don't have this one, I'm also on the hunt for it. I've seen it reversed with the proper colors, though.
If I happen by two of the correct ones, I will let you know.
I just bought this on Etsy. I settled on something that was somewhat similiar to the real piece even though the colours are not the same. What do you think? I haven't started yet. I know even know if Marko wore a black or blue jacket. I think it was black.

I am planning to make a copycat but you know, add my own element. I have seen how much the actual pieces cost and it's just a no for me. I realize that this isn't going to go well should I happen to find the other pieces. But, it's a start and it was affordable.Welcome. In response to your question, how accurate are you trying to be, what is your time frame, what is your expectations of cost for a Marko jacket. Are you just trying to throw something together cheap for a halloween costume, or are you trying to replicate the jacket. To replicate the jacket, it is very time consuming, some people literally spending years to complete. And the cost can be quite expensive. If your just doing a quick costume than that tapestry will work fine I'm sure. If your looking to do a movie accurate jacket, that is not going to look correct.
It's the right one but the wrong color. The peacock, matador, and leopard come up you just gotta be patient. They usually go for about $40-50 ea. The two "ladies" have been posted here, you can down load the image and have them printed on fabric. The BLACK vintage levis jacket was a size 40 with the small label, they run about $50-100. The patches are gonna add up though, you'll probably spend over $200 on custom made and vintage patches. So I would expect to pay at least $500 total and it will probably take some time to track stuff down. If you buy the wrong stuff, your probably not gonna be happy with it down the road and end up spending more money to get the right stuff. If your in a hurry and don't care, then do whatever makes you happy. Some people have painted there own patches on canvas with acrylic paints. The leopard tapestry usually shows up on ebay but facing the wrong way, that one seems more common. I own a wrong way leopard because I haven't found a correct one yet either.I am planning to make a copycat but you know, add my own element. I admire the passion and dedication alot of people give in re-creating this one item truly to it's original form. I'm also a small woman so if anything, I would be struggling to make room on a small maybe medium size Ladies Levis jean jacket! It's the right one but the wrong color. You might be able to return it even though it shipped out already. I sent a message to the seller about cancelling the piece I ordered. Too late. It shipped out. Now I either suck it up and make something out of it or try to sell it and continue my quest for the exact image. Canadian dollar sucks big time though as everything is mostly US$. Oh well...One day...
Thanks for your advice.
