lost boys MARKO jacket replica!

Also, I'm reworking the back of my Prime Jacket with the Cleo I printed at Contrado. It's been a little trial and error, but I'm getting there.

I just got everything Safety Pinned in place to hold it temporarily. IF I can ever find the actual Peacock I'm going to be Reworking about 1/3 of the Jacket anyway.

Someone needs to open an Etsy shop for these. Would love one but there's no way in hell I'd ever be able to make it myself lol.
Finding the materials & having the patches made is the hard part. Even if you went with all Reproduction tapestries you're probably looking at about a $500 investment, plus untold hours of Labor from Research and Sewing.

It IS obtainable, but you have to WANT it.

Good news! I printed a Peacock tapestry on a Plush Velvet material at Contrado and it turned out pretty good.

I think this may be a viable solution for those who can't find an original Leopard.

Here are images of the actual printed fabric, and the Source image, as well as a pretty decent pic of the Leopard if anyone wants to try it out.

Note: This material will not Fray, so if you go this route I'd suggest sewing the pieces onto a canvas or cheesecloth of some type to Fray the edges.

How deep does the dye penetrate the material? Is it just the top, and have white "roots" or does the dye actually go all the way to the bedding material?

It has white roots, lol. That's the exact analogy I used talking to a buddy of mine about it.

It'd probably look fine on a Display piece but I don't know honestly how it would fare on one that is worn on the regular.

I was wondering how they would get the ink down to the bedding.

Cool, let me know how the material is because I'm still guessing.
Yeah, I know what the original tapestry fabric is like. It kind of like a stiff, medium thickness flannel type material. Sort of coarse on the back, and soft and fuzzy on the front. There really isn't a material out there I can compare it to, so I thought canvas might be close enough. We shall see....

I'm still on the hunt for the peacock. The cheetah order arrived yesterday. I already feel intimidated. This project will be a very slow and careful one. Like reconstructive surgery.

Just a suggestion (because I messed it up first) but here is the approximate Cut Line on the Cleo. I'd advise to study all images and judge for yourself of course.

I got my Contrado order. So I ordered the 11.2 canvas, which is their medium weight canvas. Compared to the original tapestry, the thickness and weight are close, but that is obviously only my opinion and Contrado has many other fabrics to choose from. The original is fuzzy on the front, this obviously is not. The canvas takes color well and the 11.2 is stiff but not too stiff. When ordering be careful of how you place your image in their "size box", I wanted mine 19"×40" and I had the image horizontal and it was gonna print the image 19" wide and a HUGE white are. That would have sucked, so be careful of that when ordering. Contrado's customer service was good and they processed and shipped the order SUPER quick. The only thing I would have changed about my size which was 19"×40" is I would have gone up one more inch to 20"×40, I think that would be closer to a true measurement. It's not enough of an issue that I'm gonna re-order though. I'm very happy with how it turned out and I'm going with it.

Awesome! I'm glad it worked out for you! Like I said, I'm still trying to find the perfect fabric, but I'm happy this option exists now.

Big thanks again Charlie Tearz for putting together the awesome layout. You really helpd us all with that.
I just figured out (when I printed that Peacock) you can go up to 40" long on the image, so this is the design I'm currently testing:

I've actually updated this design but don't have a pic on my phone...

What is this material under the skull biker patch? I thought it was the rest of Cleo's legs, but it seems whiter.
