Hey there, everyone! Sorry about the lack of posts. The truth is that I totally underestimated the amount of time it takes to finish a gun...cleaning up the cast alone takes a single night of work FOR EACH GUN (trimming, filling, and sanding). Add to that work, Jack, and the Christmas season, and you can see what's the hold up. I haven't been posting pics because there's really nothing to show except a row of white slushcasts in various stages of the cleaning up process.
Rest assured, though...all guns and parts of the First Run have been cast. It's just taking longer than I thought to get them to the painting process.

I want to finish all ten guns before I ask for the rest of the money, and then ship them out at the same time. That's why I haven't even sent out the two unfinished kits yet. I want to make sure everyone in the First Run gets their gun at roughly the same time.
As for an ETA, I'm shooting for first week of January, but no later than February 1st. Sorry, guys...I'm just being really precious with the paint job and I don't want to send out less than perfect work.

:lol I know! And You don't even want to know what I got paid for those two seconds of screentime.
I feel the same way. On the day of filming, me and the gun were there for almost 6 hours, and I remember them filming several close-ups of the gun itself for inserts...but I guess they decided they didn't need them.

Yeah. Apparently one of the producers Googled "blunderbuss" and this thread popped up. At the time the prototype wasn't completed yet, so I had to hustle in order to get it ready for filming.

Any updates on how the painting is coming along?
Sorry, I don't mean to bug. I just bought the movie on blu ray and watched it with some friends so I'm excited all over again.

I plan on logging 6 hours of blunderbuss work every night I'm off (after the wife and kid go to bed) so hopefully I'll hit my January 31st completion date.
As for the DVD/BluRay release...I'm a little scared. Now that it's out, I'm anticipating a flood of offers for a blunderbuss and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to fill them :cry

You could hire some lab rats nearby to help you out.
I also saw the movie on Blu-ray not too long ago. It's still awesome. The kid who plays Cid is amazing.
