Hey Gang, I still cannot get images to upload at The Custom Saber Shop Forum, and there's a new member there wanting to build a lightsaber so I invited him/her over here so that they could see what I'm talking about.
Hey @ mauijedi ! Welcome to TheRPF!
You could get sort of close to the look of Obi-Wan's Lightsaber in The Phantom Menace with these parts, a hacksaw, a drill, and a flat ******* file...
1. MHSV1 Blade Holder Style 16----------------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/MH...e-16-P416.aspx
2. 3" Double female threaded connector--------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/3-...ctor-P122.aspx
3. Double ended male threaded connector style 1----------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Do...le-1-P127.aspx
4. MHS ribbed extension-----------------------------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/MH...sion-P245.aspx
5. 1.2" Double Female-------------------------------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/12...male-P398.aspx
6. Cube Ring for Pommel Style 4------------------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Cu...e-4-P1072.aspx
7. Pommel style 4-------------------------------------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Po...e-4-P1071.aspx
8. MHS Sleeve material - 18"------------------------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/MH...-18-P1167.aspx
9. 8-32 x 3/8" Stainless Steel thumb screw-------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/8-...crew-P538.aspx
10. 8-32 x .3" red thumb screw---------------------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/8-...crew-P547.aspx
11. 8-32 Covertec Button Thumbscrew--------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/8-...crew-P825.aspx
12. Red LED indicator----------------------------------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Re...ator-P114.aspx
13. SPST Momentary tactile switch------------------------------http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/SPST-Momentary-tactile-switch-P641.aspx
The idea here is that you would use two sections of the MHS Sleeve Material to cover over the MHS Ribbed Extension and the MHSV1 Blade Holder Style 16. You'll have to use a hacksaw and file to remove parts of the sleeve material in order to emulate the grip and emitter coverings on the Obi-Wan TPM Lightsaber.
Then drill out the holes required for the Thumbscrews, the Red LED Indicator, and the SPST Momentary Tactile Switch.
If you want to have a blade, and sound, you'll have to choose your sound card, speaker, speaker holder, battery pack, battery holder, chassis parts, etc.
I saved an image of these parts (those that are in the MHS Builder anyway) assembled so that you could get an idea for what it would look like, but The Custom Saber Shop Forum still won't let me post images. I just don't know why!
Works here at TheRPF though!.....

If you want to play around with it, you can open up the MHS Builder here..............http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com...r.php?tabid=38
Find each part 1,2,3,4,5 and align/assemble them from right to left starting at the 11.5" mark on the ruler at the bottom of the Builder. You can substitute MHS Pommel 4 at the 0.0" mark to get a rough idea of the overall length that the lightsaber hilt will be with these parts.
I hope this helps you! Good Luck! And remember, it's way more fun to try and build your own lightsaber. Besides, how will you ever become more than just a Padawan if you don't build your own lightsaber?
