really? REALLY?! schaferb - what the heck is wrong with you?

Besides the obvious problems you've caused in the past with that ridiculously long thread that went on for days and days...

not only that - on your junkyard post that asks for donations you put up a picture of a nomex suit. You do realize that the measurements of this suit will be of a tdk suit right? So how is that even CLOSE to what you were advertising?! That misleading thread should be taken off the the junkyard.

In addition - You do not ask someone who has put their blood sweat and tears into making a suit to give you exact measurements... that's almost considered recasting.

Didn't you say in that ridiculously long thread a few months ago that you had the "skills" to build this suit on your own and your own drawings and prototyping would be enough? !

Please, dont' waste any more time here on this board.

I did say that I had the skills. I just need a way of making a working torso fit and all putting the pieces together. I just needhgy help and wasnt stealing work if I said I would pay? I cant take magical measurements from pictures.... He just got it into a working piece so I wanted to talk and get some advice. If theres no answer then ill stop but if anyone can just get me a base to work from with any info/advice id appreciate it much! I dont know the sizes of each part I mean someone whos sculpted must know..I am willing to pay for a poster board cut out in detail of the real nomex survival suit just to use as a standard to fit my hardened pieces to and all.

Why am i wasting your time saying i dont know how to get measurements of a movie scence suit. you still think i want you to make me a bullet proof vest. Your ignoring all info like deals, money and opportunity for a project to work on as you think its a joke. all i need is a start.

so shut up and pay. You can pay for a sculpting armature that is roughly the same size as Christian Bale and sculpt the pieces yourself to the point where you think they're "right".

You can pay for any number of dark knight suits on ebay that have roughly the right dimensions as they are meant to be suits too.

You could even pay for a spandex undersuit to start with - and cut up a cheap rubies costume and lay out the pieces in the shape and form that you want.

You COULD have paid for the TDK suit here. Though after learning of your intentions with it, I doubt you'll get it.

So really..stop complaining that no one is helping you. You're not helping yourself. No one is going to make a deal with you. Nothing in life is free. Sorry buddy, stop talking and just do something to help yourself, rather than taking the easy way out and trying to peddle ideas onto others who actually have skill. If you say you have the skill then just make the damn suit already - I gave you all the advice you need above so that you can have all the pieces you want... So YOU PAY or stop posting

I have been in love with your work since I started checking out the RPF, and am proud to have placed my order a few minutes ago. I'll eagerly await my suit and hope your business is extremely successful.

Try not to ever let the "money men" who will inevitably try to leech onto your skill to exploit your talent corrupt your work in the name of the maximum profit and I bet you'll be successful for a long time. Keep up the good work and I look forward to whatever your next project is, they are always great to watch!

I had the pleasure of seeing this in person and talking to Dave. First and foremost, Dave is unchanged from all this - still the same guy I met years ago at DC and still the same guy who's climbed ladder very deservedly. Secondly, this is the best work I have ever seen you do. This and its intricacy stands above all, deserving its own congratulations in getting the job done.

Sadly no. We've got the Fan Expo here in Toronto the weekend before DC, and Fan Expo is also a loong show...Dave usually needs a few days to recover from that one...:lol
I also know he's not fond of the idea of leaving town yet 'again'...after all he has two beautiful babies that scream 'daddy daddy' to him all day long, and a lovely, tolerant, understanding, patient, cool and downright awesome wife:lol...that he leaves behind every time so I think DC may be out this year.

The truth is it would be good for him to go and bring some of the Batman leathers for people to check out for themselves....even if we wouldn't have a booth set up. The thing is it's been a long year and I dont know that he's ready for one more show....and production of said goods to focus on shortly there after.

I've seen a lot of dave's work, in progress pics, and final products and it involves sculpting with clay, latex and/ or urethane. So I didn't really see too much leather work involved in any batman projects.

What was the inpiration for the idea to make the tdk suit leather?

How did you learn how to work with a completely different medium than most batman products so quickly and with such quality? was this a side hobby of you guys or something?

I guess it's just like a behind the scenes type question.

David used to work with leather garments/jackets before getting into costuming.

It is top notch stuff, so it just seems like a an easy (maybe long and grueling :lol) transition from Batman latex/urethane to leather.

Check out the previous generic leather suits he did that were done with a real world Batman in mind.
