Let's talk Mandalorian Era New Republic Flight Jackets

Sabine has 2 Victory patches above a Republic (?) patch on left sleeve.
Right has the Phoenix.
No idea what the 3 on the left breast are.

Hera has the Republic and Phoenix and the one on her back.

Notice that the patches are embroidered.

I mean they could be but I don’t see the absolute proof of that at this resolution. They could easily be painted and/or layer leather or fabric appliqués.
The side view of Sabine on the speeder looks pretty conclusive. The round red/yellow one is absolutely embroidered then weathered.

Still not seeing conclusive evidence. It could also be something like a split leather patch with stamped and painted emblem and weathered with a wire brush to give it a fuzzy appearance. Still not ruling embroidery out but I have been around this place since 1998 and seen too many people use words like definitely and conclusive on low res images only to be wrong. I’m not sure why it’s such a crime around here to have a wait and see attitude.

Yep, holding off for a few weeks 'till I see this in 4K. After you put that leather idea out there, I started thinking (d@mn it MJF you made me doubt...;)) could they be? Or possibly a mix of the types?
Based on these shots it looks to me like the "Rebel" patch they're sporting has a sheen to it like you would see on embroidered pieces that are new-ish, but the half circle (I've seen that symbol before I think) and the smaller patches on Sabine's left front could be either, maybe not the half circle as it looks it has that base layer for embroidery in the shot of Hera's arm, but without more evidence (conclusive or otherwise) it's too soon to tell. As a side note I reached out to one of the leather patch dealers from Etsy, about the New Republic blood chit. They were all fired up about doing it, got a cost to me, but failed to follow thru on a listing. If it pans out I'll holler.

To me, if I had to guess, I think those phoenix patches look more like the print on leather like Poe’s rebel patch on his jacket in The Last Jedi.

The Victory patches; For Death Star 1 and 2, maybe? And as bad as it sounds, the three on the breast reminds me of my Boy Scout days...

Maybe, I'm not sold yet. The one that I got off Etsy doesn't "look" like embroidered until you get up close. The backing is almost like a very tight woven canvas? I'll take a shot or two this evening.

A lot of seam selvage there. I'd be afraid of it catching on something and getting torn off.

I’m just curious as how they are actually constructed. This looks to be a more fabric as opposed to Poe’s paint on leather patch. But honestly, trying to keep an open mind, if I consider that it might be leather, I could kind of see that too.

However, I still like the leather. Maybe because if it gets damaged, it looks better worn than snagged.
