Soo... all the patches I ordered arrived last week, all great sellers and really well done products. Anyone looking to start there for their own flight jacket would do well. On the jacket that MJF shared and I later ordered; took a bit to ship (It arrived today and was ordered on 4/5), I was a little anxious as I had no doubt it was coming from overseas and I've had a run of bad vendors over the past few months. But this purchase turned out great. Fit, detail and function all really well done. All seams look solid and the jacket is really put together well. The leather is just thick enough to be a good all around jacket, not too thick not too thin. Fit is amazing, I ordered a 2XL and it's like it was made for me. I'm just over 5' 8", 190 lbs., 48" chest, 34" waist and 22.5" shoulders and it's really like a glove. I can move freely without pinching/binding and the length is spot on. And I'm pretty positive there's just enough room for a flight suit, were I to decide to wear it over top. Admittedly the color is a little less brown a bit more amber, but to me it fits right in for a day to day jacket as well as a "Star Wars" type jacket. Think Poe/Finn's jacket details/style combined with a light to midweight cafe biker jacket. Good Hunting!

It should darken with some weathering/oiling

"When I designed each pilots bomber jacket - I wanted them to be unique and tell their individual story. For Rick I bought a vintage Dodgers satin baseball jacket off Etsy. I then asked Luis Norato to make the pattern as an exact replica. Kevin Ochoa sourced many leathers until we found one that would give me the drape of the satin - and the Carol DeMarti aged the crap out of it. Luis also help me deign patches based on Dodger patches."

They all look pretty close in design if not the same to me from these shots. But it seems like we're seeing 3 distinct styles at least, with some offshoots; "New Republic Pilots" and a mix for the Ahsoka series (at least for now) with Hera's original Rebel flight jacket and Sabine's flight jacket that she's wearing, and the other similar styles from the previous Mandalorian episode. I would wager we'll see the other jackets from the Mandalorian series mixed in with the Ahsoka series as well, if not the same folks ;)

I would love to see close up of all the patches. We see of course that Filoni does indeed have a wolf patch and is a general. And it also looks like they gave him a Cad Bane style hat minus the greeblies.

I wonder why they did not add rank to Captain Carson Teva‘s jacket? Maybe because they don’t know what his rank should be. He has previously been know as a captain but that is junior officer rank. As such, he shouldn’t be walking into HQ and talking to a general or making deals with the Madalorian about policing the sector. Seems like Teva is much more than a captain.

Well, Star Wars ranks have never been all that consistent. Teva could be a Navy-style Captain rather than an Army/Air Force style Captain.

Or it could be more like the RAF in the Interwar Period, where being OIC (Officer In Command) on a post meant you had authority over everyone on that post, regardless of your nominal rank. Or perhaps a better example is a Royal Navy officer in the later 19th century, where the Captain of a ship could more or less make decisions that would bind the entire British Empire.

Yeah the rank system has been allll over the place in SW. Not just in the Empire either. Rebels have their own discrepancies. And there is never good distinction from Naval or Space forces to Army. That's not even to mention the ISB.

I think the ranks in the rebel/republic/resistance has been pretty consistent. I think a lot of people are confused because they still remember old references from now non canon info.

As far as the R/R/R is concerned, some might find it strange because the rank designations are a smattering of of army and navy. I think the only variation I’d that when you get to the top, they call them Admiral or General based on the forces they are in. The rank of captain appears to be a junior officer type like in army ranks. However, the term captain is also a position, as in command of a vessel.

I wonder what the story is for that red cloth hanging at the bar.

I really want to see the cut and details of the other jackets. Mostly because I hope that some of the others are more aesthetically pleasing than Teva’s.

Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with the X-Wing uniform/costume? I spent a lot of years almost 20 years ago doing research on the costume and its component. I loved what it stood for but honestly, I think it’s pretty ugly. I think General Merrick’s blue squadron flight suit is an improvement. I think the resistance vest are much cooler looking and I like the colors of the resistance A-Wing flight suit colors best of all. I guess one Of the reasons I liked the appearance of the flight jacket is that it gave a boost to the overall look but bummed by the sterile look. I guess all the cool leather jacket costume designers were too busy over at Picard.

Man, this makes me wish there was more space at GE (and Paris had GE) to build a wider array of experiences. Handing out at a pilot's bar would be cool. I also wish they'd launch a range of official in-universe clothing instead of more cheap Mando t-shirts to the wider public.

If you are looking for patches why not us the official patches used for the now Legends X-Wing Novels.

Yep, right there with you on the X-Wing uniform, I'm leaning heavily into getting myself a Blue Squadron kit, especially after the Zeb cameo. Still undecided on using the old chest box/vest or the new sets.
