You know, Disney has been making Indiana Jones replica jackets they have been selling on the website and at parks… I wonder if they would consider making flight jackets.

Well I did mention both Poe’s jackets being arguably flight jackets In the very first post.
Personally I think his TLJ jacket is a little too tailored to be a flight jacket. Doesn’t look roomy enough to wear over a flight suit and not very warm looking for the added warmth while flying, even though they have yet to actually see these worn in flight. But definitely the similarities in the patches make you feel that they got it from Poe’s jacket. However it could just be a milItaly jacket not related to piloting duties.
To me, I think Poe’s TFA jacket looks more like a flight jacket. It looks roomy and seems to have more ability to move when in the cockpit. I also think the maybe at one point the stepping was functional to hold some sort of flight gear. But all of this is just speculation and opinion.

OK round two of ordering; worked with a custom fabric printer to get the chit done in 8" x 12" double brushed polyester. I used a smaller version than the WWII designs based on the rear panel of the jacket I bought, it has a seam running down the middle and I wanted it to be a little "different" but still look somewhat within reg's. Thanks again to division 6 for working up the updated chit design for the New Republic, I did modify it slightly with some different colors. I went with orange as the main field and blue as the squadron color. Also put in an order for a leather flak plate using Aurabesh font, and ID'd a local tailor to get everything sewn on

On the one hand, this flag is reminding me very much that the Oilers are now out of the playoffs. Actually, until this moment I hadn't really realised how similar the Oilers logo and the Rebel "starbird" are!
On the other hand, this flag very much depicts how I hope the upcoming Alberta election turns out.
Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing the finsihed jacket!

Trying to work it, waiting on two more patches and then I'm ready. Something to think about for those considering doing their own jacket, there is a serious lack of "SW in world" type of patches out there. I had those that I secured pinned in the spots I wanted them and found there was a LOT of blank space on the jacket. Going back to eBay, Etsy, Google, etc. yielded very limited options. So, I reached out to the Pilot Bay folks to see if they're interested in looking into producing some similar to what was seen in Mandalorian S2/3 and maybe some nose art pieces or even some original ideas we've discussed here, we'll see...

If you notice, I intentionally have stayed away from embroidery as I believe that when patches are utilized in the SWU, they tend not to be embroidered.

Aww man... now you've got me rethinking my choices... Picking up the last two on Friday at a 501st event, I'll post some pics before I run off to the seamstress for the sewing. BTW, this thread has made it over to the Rebel Legion with some questions about making flight jackets inclusive to the CRL, well done MJF!
