thank you all for the kind words !! sorry there wasn't much progress until now haha the fabric side has taken all my time this week !
the smoothing process is a good way through on the master faceplate and i;ve started smoothing this V3 dome:
next up sand it down cover in knifing putty sand and repeat a few times then i'll bond the flair and the upper as one part
getting there !!

so tonight i did my first wet sand pass on the dome:
the next step is the first Knifing putty step, but whats that i hear you say it looks just fine..... doesn't look so great when i circle all the imperfections hahaha
so after i post this i'll layer up some knifing putty with a scrap of leather and let it set, i'll wet sand and repeat the process tomorrow

Todays update looks worse than it is haha did some light sanding and bonded the flair to the dome:
and two hours later the bond is complete !!
some very minor cleanup on some bleed on the back and i micro-filed the grove back on areas where the epoxy backspilled
tomorrow i will give it another all over light sand with 1200 grit and then re filler prime and repeat:
getting there !!
aiming to have the faceplate bonded before the weekend
On the small greebles on the cheeks I'm still considering the best way to cast i think i will cold cast as a separate mold for the 4 cheek detail parts
