Kodiak Bear Bio -- 5/8/12 Polar Bear Version Done

Nice pvc armature :)

Thanks Jose! This is how I did mine.

I reused an old desk chair for the base by stripping off the seat and back. Then I kinda, duck taped the **** out this old plate with a steel rod in it to the chair base. after that I slipped on the pvc pipe and packed the inside of the pvc pipe with some garage mat foam to keep it from wobbling. then duct taped the base again. It's sturdy as hell and not a nail or screw used.. Gotta love duct tape. The actually bio armature was a urethane foam pour in my bone crawler bio that I held a pvc pipe into as it started to expand and cure..

Here are some shots of it...Looks rough but works like a champ. Plus, with the hydralics in the chair still working, I can raise and lower the sculpt with out removing it from the armature.

Base still dirty from the Falcon wing molding session.

Nice dude, i enjoy seing people do their own stuff, i see a darth vader helmet, LOL, Im waiting over for my resin :(

Thanks man! I picked up the vader a couple years ago from the thrift store for like $10, I also have a clone trooper helmet my neighbor gave to me. my little girl likes to wear the vader one "youu power darkside!!" too cute :) .

I think I'm about ready to mold this thing. Tomorrow after I get back from the print shop, I'll go back over it again with fresh eyes and smooth anything I might have missed. Looks pretty good to me.

I added some small rings around the spheres, plugged up the eyes, cleaned up the new trilaser design and built a lip around the edges. I still might add a lip to the crown just to be safe.

Sorry for the ****** pics. Not sure where the SD card is for the good one..

Here's a shot of the lip, I put the line in there as kinda a guide. so I know where to cut the excess off after I pull one out.

(yeah I see that hose popping off. already taken care of.)

First off, I can't believe this has slipped past me, it's looking awesome. I know I'm probably wading in with this way too late, but the left hand side ( as you look at it) looks fine up to the lower part of the cheek, where it all seems to be a a little bit lower than the right. I've attached a pic with some lines drawn on so you can see what I mean. The red dots are possible slightly over to the left (again as looking at it). I hope this helps, as this is a phenomenal bio!!

Good eye bro! Thanks for the guides! I'm going to adjust the jaw a little bit. I'm pretty sure I can line it up easier that way. Its weird cause I look at it it an it looks straight. The I take a pic and it looks slightly off in the pic

Thanks for the awesome compliments bro!

Usurper said in one of my threads to keep photographing and look at them as they will show you much more effectively where things are unbalanced. Glad to help, looking forward to the finished piece.

First pull next to original. Could have came out abit better. It has a few bubbles hear and there but it will work for a gnarly Kodiak paint up.

Cleaner pull. Gonna use this one for a Polar Bear paint up. A little heat will pull that bottom left part in line.

Lol yeah man, Late nights are the only way I'm able to get anything done sculpt and prop wise. Tonight is going to be a late night of painting. Thanks bro! (y)

Fcame out great! You used two different resins? One gray and one white or is it pigment?

Thanks bro! I used some So Strong Black in the SmoothCast 65D for the first one and the second one I just ran straight SmoothCast 65d with out the pigment. (y)
