Kodiak Bear Bio -- 5/8/12 Polar Bear Version Done

Looking great! I like how you've put detail on the bottom of the bio, around the chin area, not many other people do that to theirs. All i can say is that it is looking awesome!

Now were talking i like the new eyes ;)

Thanks bro! I tried to make them as big as I could and I still might open then up a tiny tiny bit more. I have some time to tweak it out abit because I can't mold it for another week or so. :(

Thanks bro! It was kind of a last minute addition and I think really helps tie it all together. :)

Finished smoothing it out. all thats left is fixing 2 little things and what I bump around when I get it on the molding board.

Here's some shots of the finished sculpt...

Whatcha think? not bad for few hours a night for a week. (y)

Thanks for looking and commenting folks!

Now that is fricken sweet fella, the whole Bio looks mental and the eyes look more menacing.

Great detailing, where did you get all the greebles parts from ??

Thanks bro! For the ends, I made a half mold of a brass fitting I found (I only molded half of the fitting so it fits flush). I cast them in resin to make them easier to sand and spit in half to use for the end caps. The centers part is part of an old xwing model and the wire is plain ol a/v wire. Same process was used on the balls. I just molded half of what ever size ball I wanted.

Been staring at it and things started to bother me soooo. I kinda started tweaking and smoothing on it more.. I'm using 100% Acetone ( dollar store nail polish remover.. ) with cotton squares and it works great. after I get it smooth with the acetone, I'll let it dry out abit then go over it with the alcohol to make it shiny smooth.. I guess thats the best way to put it.

Looking great! By the look of the tri-dots, im assuming your going to, or thinking about putting the laser on the top of the head? Because that'd look pretty badass! :D

Thanks! My Idea is that I will leave them as is and have the laser/led light coming out small holes drilled into the divots.

Here's a 360 of the bio as is..

Thanks for looking folks!

Small update! First, Thanks Jason (PredatrHuntr) for the feedback via PM. I started looking at it rechecking the symmetry from every angle. I fixed quit a few areas I missed before. I balanced the cheeks out, made the ears look the same, filled small low spots on the back of the crown and over all evened it out.

I'll be ordering the Rebound40 tomorrow night, which will me some time to really nit pick this guy and make it as symmetrical as I can.

The airsoft bbs are in the trilaser divots for reference. Kinda helps as reference points for me.

Sometime this next week I'll be documenting the molding and casting of this guy too. (y)

Thanks for looking and commenting folks! As always feedback is welcome!

the only thing i can see that i would fix is when your looking at the bio the left jaw seems to be pushed in more than the right. I think you should bring that out but other then that i like it. keep up the good work man.

Very smooth finish lets see one painted :)

Nail polish remover and Cotton pads work like a champ to level it out. then to a quick coat with alcohol to make it really smooth and shiny. I'm ordering the rebound tomorrow so hopefully next week some time I'll get to mold it. so maybe by next weekend I'll have one all dressed up. (y)

I've been battling with that lower jaw..

Fixed the left brow. it was a little small, I think it's good now.
Better now?

Oh yeah.. I have not done the alcohol coat yet. I'm waiting for it to air out a bit.

Thanks for the feedback and comments guys! Helps me out a bunch. (y)

Looking great once again! One thing i have noticed though, i think the right ear (picture wise), or the whatever that is, seems to jerk out a bit more that the left side? The left one seems to be more smooth than the right side. But other than this looking great, keep up the great work!

Good eye bro! looks like the lob area of the right ear is a bit more pointed. I'll smooth it out tomorrow. I'm spent for the the night. just finished fixing the left brow where it meets the crow by the left ear. nice and symmetrical. Thanks for bringing the ears to my attention! (y)

Did some more evening out around the crown cheeks and all over in general. I fix one area and then another is off a bit. night by night it's getting better and better.

Here's some updated shots and a before and after.

Still more todo. Anything pops out let me know. I should have my rebound and resin on monday but I'm not opposed to delaying molding till it's damn near perfect.

Thanks for the feedback and comments guys! (y) Can't wait to get this guy done.

Way better

Thanks! How about now?....

I just got it up on a armature, now I can clean up the edges and start plugging the eyes and putting clay around the edges for molding.

Trying out a new trilaser design up there, still need to clean it up and smooth it out more.

Thanks Jason! Our back and forth the other day prompted me to put on my big boy pants/take the extra time and go to town on the symmetry and smooth it out ALOT more. I think I might have about another 2-3 hrs left on it..I think...

Note..when you think your done with your sculpt, you are really only half way there... haha (y)
