JURASSIC WORLD Owen Grady Costume

Ordered! Coming from Ohio to UK :lol Still very good value £80 they are new and reason they are cheap is because they were sent out without the j brand badge on the back......belt will be covering so who cares :D

So glad to see the progress of you guys figuring out these costume parts. Glad my pictures could come of some use. :)

Guys- I believe I have found THE shirt. It's the Orvis that we all agreed on. But I know everyone was waffling on the color. I managed to find "real world" photos of the blue and grey, none of them seemed to be quite right. So I did some digging.

Here's again for reference, the on-display costume.

And the shirt I found on eBay, listed as KHAKI

They didn´t change the buttons!!! There goes my no reflection theory...

The ones on his just look less marbled? When I get the shirt in my hands I'll compare but I am thinking the movie was just under some serious color selective filter for blue.

PS- I will have both a medium and large as I missed one the medium at first and got a large. So the large will be available.

Hmm no orange stitching, though. They very well could have used different shades for different scenes based on lighting and/or chronology (weathering, etc). Just saw the movie again today, and by the end of it, the shirt looked much more faded and more closely resembles the shirt in on display above. I dunno.

I'm just as confused. I noticed the lack of stitching on the ends of the pockets too but there's no doubt on that color and of the ones I found, none had it present. Very possible it was added to this one for continuity.

Enthusiasm is a dangerous drug (for me I mean). No orange stitching...

Maybe the had several shirts in close colors shades. Nobody would worry for a tiny little stitching.

Here's some more real world pics of both the blue and grey:

Looking at this BTS pic, I'm still convinced it's the grey shirt:

The buttons are the same in the khaki and in the grey. They have a brass core. They changed them for the movie, probably to avoid reflection. Sorry, my mistake. It´s too late here...
I go for grey too

I don't trust my eyes on the variation for the most part, but I'm starting to think it's most likely there were a few different shirts. I can't for the life of me understand why it would vary but looking at the costume on display in white light is what I've learned to trust the correlation on. The orange stitching on the grey also looks way too vibrant in comparison.

To add- I also don't think the grey shown in that eBay photo is the gunsmoke color from the current website's stock.

I went with the blue, as I believe it's a good representation of what is depicted in the movie, and will be most recognizable for the character.

Just as a heads up - the J Brand Kane in Leather (color name) is on Gilt for $69 in very limited quantities. I believe that it's the correct color, so I grabbed a pair, but if we find out it's a different color I won't be too heartbroken. I should be getting in the grey Orvis, chocolate Eastlands and the J Brands over the next week or two, so I'll post pics when I have the whole getup to see how the colors look together in relation to screen (or possibly off screen) accuracy.

That color has way too much green tint IMO. I'm with CJKent. If you look at the behind the scenes video and photos that weren't color corrected (like that one he poster from the Entertainment Tonight first look) Grady's shirt is definitely closest to the grey color, which then appears blue through the film's color correction.

And recall what the costume designer said "It was also overdyed to give it a more organic earthy rugged look." so it's going to look a little different than the off-the-rack one, which is why it probably at times has a greyish khaki appearance in certain photos.

You are correct in that there were multiple shirts, as confirmed by the costume designer. If they overdyed them as he mentioned, that could explain the slight variations in color!
