Help reducing shine on silk Prince Edward jacket?

I have a silk Prince Edward-style jacket that was custom made — it was quite expensive but unfortunately came out much shinier than the sample I was shown. The glare/reflection really bothers me.

Is there any safe and permanent way to reduce or eliminate the shine from silk without damaging the fabric or changing the color? I’d appreciate any advice from anyone who’s dealt with something similar, especially in costume or theatre settings.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome. I imagine there may be folks here who can help, but this should probably be moved to the "Replica Costumes" section.

"Screen Used Costumes and Props" is intended for original, authentic items used in (or intended for use in) the production of a film or show. Mainly collectors showing off acquisitions, auction news, authentication issues, museum exhibitions, etc.

If you click the "Report" link at the bottom of your first post, you can request to have it moved.

You might go to a professional dry cleaner. Usually, you have a 5% vinegar mixed in 95% water. It's tricky because, even if you spray that mix on a hanging jacket, you might have uneven sheens on it when dry. Good luck;)
