Jir'Xar (Yautja costume WIP)

Shogun word to the wise .make sure you leave enough room for latex shrinkage and length around the waist for both the top and bottom in other words basically extend the top half past the waist and bottom half above the waist of your mannequin . You can always trim . ISpeaking from experience trust me. I have to redo mines that really sucks.Anyway good luck my friend .

Vebo1 alright will do, my good friend Yautja....but do not worry this is only the begining of the sculpture ....and of course I will put a zipper in the back but i understand what you mean by making it larger to the waist ;) thank you very much for the tips

Well yay, i succeed at making my first polyurethane Mold of Predator....I STILL HAVE MAJOR repairs to do on the back of the mold but we can say it is a success!!! Oh and yes remove the left over monster clay ;)

Great job shogun!
Btw if the back of your head mold ended up broke or with too many problems I have a little tip.
On my very first mold, I made the back to thin and it shattered. Made a pull from the front part that was still in tact, and hot glued upholstery foam to it in the shape of the back of a Predator head. Covered that in latex and made x-cuts for the dreads, painted it, and it worked out well :)

You've got your hands full it seems already lol But I do like what I've seen so far of your work, that's for sure. We can talk some more about this. I'm surely interested. Maybe commission some armor for next year's Con..

OK well I had a deception tonight because of my impatience .....85 % of the seam of my mask did not cured and I removed the mask from the mold too quickly....I also did not put mold release agents. Another problem was that I lacked of Latex.... so I puted some tape temporarily until I repair it with Contact glue..... or super glue. I also need to fill the mask with memory foam once i get it repaired.... I am NOT a mask specialist as you can see....

Greetings Vebo1 I used 2 process...but the simplest process for making gloves is puting mask RD-407 Latex directly to your hands ( you make one hand at a time).....you take your time to put 3 to 4 layers of latex because RD-407 is NOT liquid, it is ''Semi'' liquid .... Or i am doing another technique is to put plaster of paris to make a mold of your hands then you sculpt directly on those molds ...... after that I will use Rebound 40 Smooth-On Silicone to brush on the hands BUT make sure you make a separation on your hands first before puting the silicone :D then I use Shell Shock fast to make the shells... of course on top of the silicone hands....Shell Shock is also a brushable resin....

Thanks good to know . I used Alginate and ultracal 30 then I will sculpt the glove mold with oil based clay then cast the glove in oomoo 25 doing a two piece mold . Then build a shell then slush cast with 407. I want to get all the details. Thanks bud
